Chapter 2: CHAPTER 2- Second Life in Alien World
As soon as HyunSo was surrounded with darkness. She heard a quick snap of a finger then light encircled her vision once again. She jolted up into a sitting position and her jaw dropped as soon as she looked around. Gold almost covered every corner, furniture, wall and floor.
She looked down and saw she's wearing a gorgeous type of white silk robe. The bed HyunSo laid on was not the most comfortable. But it definitely felt it was the best quality out there. She heaved in a breath and finally stood up. But her legs went jelly on her and it looks like she hasn't moved around for weeks? Months. Maybe years. Who knows. Definitely not her. HyunSo clearly remembers what she did before black surrounded her vision.
"How did I end up here?" she questioned quietly to no one in particular, but somebody answered that for her. "I carried you back here. And I hope you won't make the same mistake ever again and escape from me." A man with silky white hair and an abnormally handsome face.
Charcoal eyes, fair yet toned skin, straight pearly whites. Dressed in extravagant black and gold robes, arms crossed making his muscles go tense. A sword that hung by his waist, swinging after every step.
He smirks when he saw HyunSo's flustered expression and focused gaze on his biceps. 'lewd woman.' He thought and sat down on a chair in HyunSo's room, in an unusually sexy position, like the ones you see on magazine. Wanting to see more of this woman's expression, as he finds it too anusing to pass the chance.
"Breakfast will be here. I actually didn't expect that you'll be waking up today...and this early" Lies. He knew she would wake up. Reason why he came to her chamber early. Finally, HyunSo realized it has been him talking the whole time. So she gathered up the remaining bravery in her and spoke up. "Wh-who?--" She stopped with a blush on her cheeks.
'Yup. Start stuttering now won't you? It's not like you're making a damn fool out of yourself.' She thought and mentally facepalmed. She relaxes and starts again. "Who am I? Where am I? What am I doing here? And most definitely. Who are you?" HyunSo asked and the man smirks. "Having a pretend amnesia now aren't we?" He said sarcastically. And HyunSo just looked at him confused. This confused the man also. Making him think if she's actually forgetting or it's just one of her games.
"You're Song HyunSo. Only daughter of the Emperor's best friend and your old man, Song YongSu. You're in the temporary bedroom my mother, the Empress, arranged for you. By the way, you should stop running away. My mother is getting more and more concerned and soon she'd start snooping around us. You're here as my fiance. And I am the next Emperor. Crowned Prince Choi WooJin. I answered your questions. Now, it's my turn" He paused and you looked at him confused.
And suddenly. Unfamiliar memories started flooding in. Shocking So Gye. She's raised by her supposedly father only, Song YongSu, also with the help of her supposedly older brother. Song SongSo. HyunSo's supposedly mother died because of assassins who are actually there to kill her. But killed her mother instead. 'Song' HyunSo suddenly felt sadness, but dismissed it and waited for the question.
Oblivious to WooJin's observing eyes. "Why do you keep running away?" He asked and as soon as the words escaped his lips. HyunSo's mind was filled with eeriness and the truth of running away. The man is sexy all right. But he also looks dangerous, and he is. So she decided to answer truthfully. "I'm scared..." She said, instinctively pulling her legs up to her chest, wrapping her hands around it while WooJin goes into shock.
"Of this marriage. How the people would think of me. How I'd be when we finally marry and you get the seat...I'm a coward I admit. But when was I never?" HyunSo muttered the last part as she looks as the blanket as if it's the most interesting thing in the world and WooJin just continues to stare at HyunSo with such a soft gaze.
'I didn't know...she always looked so brave, and challenging me to my limit. I didn't know behind all that fire, there's a tiny coal fighting for survival.' He thought and then clears his throat. Standing up, "I'll go. You should change, maids will come in as soon as I leave and help you" He said and HyunSo just nodded her head. And just as said, he left and maids immediately came in.
Shocked at how beautiful their next Empress will be. Then regains their composure and then helps her to get out if her robes and ready a bath. After bath, they helped HyunSo into a gorgeous pale pink with cherry blossoms stitched at the bottom of the dress, with golden linings and put on light and natural make up on her as she is already beautiful.
Then leads her out to a pavilion near the Empress's palace. She arrived on the same time as WooJin then sat down after bowing to the Empress and royal consorts. "I told you ladies my daughter-in-law is beautiful. And you ladies didn't believed me!" The Empress said oh-so causally to the ladies by her side and gave the Empress back a 'Yes, yes. Go on and brag even though we already know as you've mentioned her a million times' face and then smiles once again.
"Oh dear. Where were you for the past few days?" The Empress asked as soon as everybody started to puck up their chopsticks and eat. She smiles as she gets from her memory that every tine the Empress and Emperor and the rest if the officials or court are around. They'd fake their love for one another. For some trolling reasons.
"Oh Queen Mother, WooJin didn't tell? I felt ill the past few days. But I'm fine now! I missed walking around and meeting the sun.." she said and the Empress and royal consorts seem to believe her. The Empress nods her head with a warm, motherly smile.
"I'm relieved that you are well and healthy now my dear. Oh WooJin you brat! Not bothering to tell me that your future Empress and wife was sick!" Empress scolds her son making HyunSo chuckle softly and WooJin flinch at his mother's tone of voice. "Thank you for the worry Queen Mother" HyunSo says and they talked whilst some returned to eating.
Chatting here and there. HyunSo must admit. It's been such a long time since anyone has talked to her so casually. Without being scared that she might break or snap because of a single word. After eating. HyunSo decided to excuse herself and left with WooJin . After the duo left, the women's faces turned serious. The Empress sipped her tea and rose an eyebrow.
"So? Tell me. Where was she?" She asked and a man came out of nowhere. Now leaning on a pillar with a smirk. "She ran away. As usual. Queen Mother you have a really feisty daughter-in-law here. If she doesn't want to then don't force her. And you seem to have a bitter relationship with her mother. Why continue to torture yourself?" He asked taking a bite from his apple.
The Empress shrugged her shoulders then sipped her tea. "I wanted to see if this apple landed near the tree..." She said and the man rolled his eyes. "And if this apple did land near the tree?" He asked even though he already knew the answer. The woman smirks taking another sip from her teacup.
"Oh you already know that my dear son..."
