Usually, a reward mechanism and promises of a "generous reward" would make people more efficient and spur them on to reach a target. However, the R&D team that created Lu Jia'er was like a ghost. She sensed that the ghost was always around her. However, she could not see, nor touch it. As time moved on, it was natural if the fear of the ghost would deepen.

Currently, that was exactly how Lu Jia'er was feeling. She was in a state of constant dread over how she could not control her own life and that others would be harmed because of her.

Having finished her call with Jin Xiangdong, Lu Jia'er stepped toward the lab slowly. That idea that cropped up in her mind was giving her more complicated thoughts.

Before she had reached the lab, she could already hear some happy voices coming from inside.
