The thoughts in Jill's head raced as the two men approached the van. The heavy set police officer came to the window and tapped on it.

"Open up. It's alright. We were following a lead and we need to ask you about the man you were with," came the way too sweet sounding voice from the man. He acted like he was talking to a small child or a frightened animal.
