Chapter 5: First Battle
The moment Achuta prepared her spear, The wolf lunged forward so fast it was difficult for her to react. Barely able to respond, Achuta placed the point of her spear towards the wolfs neck. Seeing this, the wolf stopped short before dodging to the side and biting towards her ankle. Thanks to the momentary reprieve, she was able to react to the second attack by pulling her spear back in a sweep towards the wolf's head while taking a step back.
After making the first hit, Achuta was excited causing her to mist the timing to dodge the wolf's third attack as it clawed towards Achuta's stomach. This left a gash on her body causing her to scream out in pain as she tried to stab the wolf with her spear. Fortunately, although she didn't make a clean hit, she made a gash appear on the offending fore leg.
Not giving it time to respond, Achuta launched her foot towards the chin of the wolf sending it's head upwards and exposing it's belly. Unfortunately, she was unable to take the opportunity to attack, wincing thanks to the pain in her stomach.
Using this chance, the wolf was able to pounce at her with it's maw to attack the face. Achuta, in return, used her spear to block it's teeth before flinging it overhead with her foot. She than rolled over before using her spear to stand back up in time to see the wolf reorient itself. Without hesitation, Achuta Stabbed her spear towards the wolfs eyes. When the wolf tried to dodge, Achuta put strength into the swing to speed up the attack while changing it's direction to where the wolf wanted to move.
Not waiting for the results of her attack, Achuta stabbed her spear again towards the wolf's heart while training her eyes on the wolf in hopes of catching it's reaction. Thankfully, by causing the first injury, the wolf wasn't able to respond to the second attack as it's heart was impaled by the spears tip causing the wolf's body to collapse on the spear's shaft. Pulling her spear out, she stabbed again towards the wolf's brain to insure it was dead before her legs buckled underneath her. It wasn't until a minute passed before she was able to move again.
Taking the rope she brought with her out, she wrapped it around the body of the wolf before dragging it's body back to her cave. It wasn't until she started moving back home that the spirit reappeared next to her again.
Spirit: How was your first fight?
Achuta: I don't remember.
Hearing this, the spirit was not surprised. During the fight, The spirit noticed a change in Achuta's eyes after her injury. However it didn't mention it.
Spirit: When we get back, I'll let you see the fight again. You'll have to go over your mistakes and improve them before you can move on to other challenges.
To this, Achuta simply nodded her head. Originally Achuta didn't want to fight a wolf. The spirit, however, wouldn't allow it.
Spirit: It's only when you experience a ferocious beasts killing intent that your first battle return the best rewards.
