Chapter 72: Chapter 71 – Loot
How could we just sit back and watch him killing the kids. How could Caleb do it? All I wanted was to go out and save the kids.
On the other side, how could his chain be so flexibly, so fast, and so quick? It was being used to whip children, used to catch them, by lassoing their neck, and cracking them, was that what my whip would be able to do?
The remaining kids that were standing disappeared so quickly. Now all twelve kids were dead.
Hunter was already done, he was moving, leaving the dead bodies, he had reached down grabbing some more coins from the dead body when suddenly a white shadow shot out onto the field, he was moving so quick, jumping from one body to the next.
It was definitely a kid, dressed all in white, with a cloth covering his face, and in his hand were two knives, he dropped next to multiple kids, cutting the pockets of the kids, where coins dropped into his hand. He was stealing and that was not all, he even killed a few of the kids that were still in pain, and took their weapons and throwing it into his bag.
Even Hunter saw him, and acting fast, he threw out an axe at him, which the shadow quickly just sidestepped, and the axe crashed onto the floor. Hunter even uses the chain to try reach the shadow, but too slow. Diving to the side and rolling on the floor, and disappeared.
Leaving Hunter stunned. But he didn't care, he grabbed a few more coins, and then he left.
It was at this moment that a girl came out, she must have been hiding like us, and was waiting for the opportunity to come out and without skipping a beat, Caleb also moved forward.
The girl looked at Caleb and then her eyes opened up sweetly.
She was happy, it was the best thing that had happened to her, when she saw me and looked disappointed, she moves towards me, and steps between me and Caleb.
This was wrong, Janice and Caleb didn't seem to care, they moved to the bodies on the floor, flipping them over and pattered their pockets, slipping off the shoes and pressing all over the body.
"This is wrong…"
"No it's not."
"Look on the bright side, we are just taking from the dead. We are not the ones that tortured them, we are not the ones that killed them, we are just helping them, by taking their items."
"Perfect!" Janice grabs a coin and a green light appears on her chest. She was complete she had all four coins.
"Good Job"
"Are you just going to stand there, or are you going to have a look?"
Caleb moves close to me and drags me out from the building.
"Look at these two bodies. It's okay, like finding coin on the floor. Think of it as you are helping them achieve what they dreamed of."
That's right, if I wanted to help them, I had to help myself get the 4 coins, otherwise I was not going to be able to save myself, and ultimately not be able to help stop this event from happening.
I turned the girl's body around and slipped my fingers into her pockets and found two coins, I rolled the other kid and there was nothing but she did have knives similar to what I had.
"Let me borrow this from you."
In the end, I got two coins and 2 knives, Caleb also found 1 additional coin, and Janice had four.
"Alright lets go."
"Not yet."
"Why not?"
"We have to bury them."
"God, this girl. "Don't you understand we are playing a game against time."
"It doesn't matter. They helped us, it's the least we can do."
"Are you hearing her?"
"Let's just help out."
Luckily the soil in front of the church was soft, we managed to use the swords to assist with digging a hole and placed the bodies into it. It was perfect, we had a church, and dead bodies in front. We even left a sword there, to show that there were bodies here.
"So now what?"
"Janice here has four-coin s, so why don't we go to the main gate like hunter and that shadow guy, and leave."
