Chapter 55: Chapter 55: cellars
The team made their way through into the keep. It must have been the hallway. Where many of the kings family would spend there time.
At the centre was a large wooden table with seats on either side. They moved pass the table, and moved towards the stairs.
Augustus was standing in the middle and the brothers on either side. This time they were holding up their weapons and ready to pounce.
They decided that it was not a good idea to go down the main staircase as they didn't want a repeat of what happened previously.
To sthe side of the wall, behind a statue, Augustus identified a trapdoor which lead to the below level. The team moved down the alleyway.
It was not any place, it was quite tiny space, it could only fit one person at a time. In the past the peasants must have used it to go downstairs and pick up food and drinks for their masters.
Excited, the team followed Augustus. They were careful though they didn't want to be robbed again. They were talking amongst each other. Saying how crazy this place was and how Augustus was such a cool kid for knowing this passageway.
The team make it to the cellurs. Ethan is over the top excited. He is amazed at all the barrels and Augustus tells him that this is the cellars and the place where they store meat and food.
They also notice that there are kids on the floor. The older ones, teenagers that look like they are wasted.
Augustus tells them that they should have a look and see if any of these kids still have coins. They will inspect these bodies and Ethan will complain that he should so have a drink after he had poked a barrel and tones of good wine splurged out.
He doesn't want to waste a single drop but his brother tells him that Augustus is correct and they should keep moving.
They will get one coin from one of the individuals here.
The cellars are dark, there are lots of places where they could get attacked. There many holes between the barrels. It's the perfect place to get attacked.
After getting the single coin they move out of the cellars and into the bailey. The once open green grass is covered with bodies. The leftovers of what must have been the big war. There are kids that are alive and otjertls that are dead.
