Chapter 47: Chapter 47: The Market Place

Even if you meet. You have to pretend you do not know each other…

Tina read an old wooden sign hanging on the wall of an old store.

Funny what people say in a war-torn city.

Empty sandstone buildings, worn-out stores and colourful tents that once upon a time were filled with life. Merchants selling goods and services to the many people that once lived here.

But not anymore. The tight streets were covered with abandoned cars, baskets and trays filled with dry fruits, and vegetables and even meat.

This was no longer a safe place.

Tina was alone. The only thing she had in her hand was her Spear, and this was all she needed.

She was against stealing and felt that the only way of getting the coin, should be with an old fashion one on one fight.

Tina was a lady of honour. She was like a knight. She was confident in herself and didn't like beating around the bush. She was strong and loved getting things done.

She just needed to find one person and defeat them and win the coin off them, and she would be done.

It was easy, and Tina felt comfortable that it wouldn't be hard to find someone. All she had to do was walk down this street and bump into a person, and it would be over.

She walked down the street, head up, surveying her surroundings.

There were rocky bridges between the structures, towels and clothes covered in dust hanging on lines and even sheets that stretched out between the buildings, creating shadows that would be perfect for hiding,

Tina was not scared. She was ready, and it didn't take long at all before she spotted her prey.

A skinny boy, no taller than 140cm, wearing a dirty old rag, a pair of ripped jeans, and barefoot. If she didn't know better, she would have thought that he was a beggar.

He looked despicable, squatting against the wall with his long oily hair covering his face.

"Hey you, what's your name?"

The boy was shocked. He didn't expect anyone to see him. He thought he was hidden.

"V…Vincent."

"This is what's going to happen. I'll give you all my coins if you can beat me in a fight. How does that sound?"

"And...if I lose?"

"Well if you lose, you give a coin. How does it sound?"

"Fine."

"Good. Now hold your weapon and fight."

It ended in a flash. One moment Vincent was there holding onto his dagger and the next he was on the floor with the sharp end of the Spear pointing at his face."

Quickly, he dropped the coin, and Tina picked it up, and a tiny cross symbol spread across her chest.

She was done.

All she had to do now was find the exit.

But somewhere on one of the cross-bridge, a group of people were watching her. Hungry for the coins she had.

"We just need to get her, and we are good to go as a group."

They were planning together in a secret way to get her.

"You ready?"

"I'll be the distraction, you be the watch, and you two come with me."

"It's Revenge Time. We are going to get her and make sure that she does not get out of this event Alive."

"Yes, sir."
