Chapter 43: Chapter 43: The Stealth Test
I was showered, cleaned and dressed.
It was 6:00 O Clock and it was nearly time for the next test.
I made my way back to the great hall. Xie Li had told us that we would need to meet here. When I arrived, I was shocked.
The whole place was crowded with children, children dressed in medieval clothes, others in tracksuits and trackpants, some in jeans and shirts, dresses and every now and then there were even one or two that were dressed in shiny armour.
It was so strange.
And a lot of them were carrying weapons, swords, spears, hammers, and axes. What was going on?
I looked so silly against them. I was just in my black dressed, the same one that I had worn in the speed test, the same one I wore into the swim test. I mean I had a whole cupboard full of them. But I wore the same one. Maybe, I was silly, but this dress had gone through a lot with me.
If one day I really do survive all these tests, I will definitely frame it like a trophy.
It wasn't that I didn't have any other clothes, or any other colours, I just loved the simplicity of the dress, and the comfort of it. Besides, it was a stealth test, it just feels like it fits in. Black and stealth come hand in hand.
"My lovely children, you know what time it is? It's time for the next test. I'm so happy that all of you have came all one your own, its wonderful, it's like you understand how it works now, the best part is that I don't need to come and find you." Zoe's voice boomed as she stepped down from the stairs.
"Follow me."
We followed her, back through the giant doors that we had last entered for the swim test. At the other end of the room was a big door, which we all entered, and disappeared into another series of stairs before we finally came to a stop.
There were 4 different paths, and each one had one of the trainers standing there.
We made our way to our trainer's spot, and followed them down the same stairs.
When we arrived it was the same seats, the same crowd of individuals, maybe less. And the stadium at the centre.
But it was different. Instead of having the giant pool at the centre, there was now a big patch of grass. It was like a perfectly cut out lawn, and dividing the field were 4 massive boxes, and a alter at the centre.
"Welcome my children, its me the commentator."
"For some of you. Today's going to be your lucky day. For others, its going to be to be your worst. For some, this test is going to bring out the worse out of you. Fr others, you will be betrayed by those who we thought we knew."
As he said that an alter shot up at the centre of the giant field. And four massive boxes also came out of the grass.
"This is what's going to happen. Each of you are going to receive a number between 1 to 4. This will be how you will be split from your team and which box you will be going to."
"At the end of the day, it will be around 25 of you per team, per box."
"You of course will be competing with each other, using whatever measures your trainer has given you."
"The difference this time in terms of test is that everyone of you will be competing at the same time. This means that not like the swim test, you will all be fighting for your lives at the same time and not be able to plan how you are going to tackle this."
"There are 3 stages to this test which we will go through later. But first things first, please go to your teachers and get a number."
I was number 4. I was with charlotte and we were going to be able to work together and get this done.
We made our way through the tube, dropping all the way down to the bottom. I entered te box on the top left. As I walked in, I was given three flags.
"The goal of the game is easy; you have all been given 3 flags. You just need to steal one more and your good to go."
"But there is a catch. Once you do have 4 flags, there will a green cross across your chest to signify you have gotten all the flags and am ready to leave."
"This also means that if anyone sees you with the cross, that they will know that you have the four flags. So search hard and fast for the exit."
"Of course once you have left the box, you just need to go to the alter and your good to go."
"So welcome to the next test, it would be in your best interest to hide away from everyone, including those that are from your team. I mean you never know they might just betray you."
"Good luck kids, may the games begin.
Just as he finished saying that, glass mirrors started to come out of the floor, bushes came up, brick walls, and trees. It was a maze.
Just what kind of place was this, how could they have built this all inside the academy.
