"You nervous, Jake?" Coach Hastings asked as we walked down to the designated field together. "Or are you just the quiet type?"
"Both." I answered truthfully. I glanced up at him. "Not nervous about hitting, but about meeting new people."
He laughed. "Yea, I understand. A lot of people are like that. I used to be too. Especially back in middle and high school. But as you get older, you start to realize that a lot of people are awkward with first meetings. But as long as you have common ground, it's much easier."
When we reached the field, I saw that two other coaches had everyone paired up and throwing the ball across the outfield. Further than I could ever throw.

half_empty It’s been a long time everyone. I can only say, life got in the way. I got sick before the holidays and didn’t recover well. Did a contract job. Had more issues. Still not 100% but I’ll take what I can get for now.
I’ll be slowly starting up again. I’ve been avoiding my notifications like the plague because I’m afraid the guilt will set me back but I took a peek at the gifts and shocked to see some big ones from F8guidesall, Tiz55, and merlinnys. lol so I still felt guilty after all. #despair. I got a system end of year round up that I should post on insta some time this week because top readers deserve to be recognized.
I hope you all had a better holiday and new year than I <3 but hey, it’s a new day so we’ll start again. Any resolutions you messed up on, I give you permission to start over. like me. we’ve got this.
