Chapter 27: The Zone
After the first day, Eris was now listening to everything he says and tells her that the key on doing Shunpo was to reach her limit in running first.
Rudy also started to teach Eris and Ghyslaine about Math and basic knowledge. Though Ghyslaine was not letting down her guard when Rudy was near due to his absurd condition, she couldn't help but feel grateful that she was included in his lessons, because not only her, but Eris was enjoying the lessons and somehow understands fully on what he says.
Little did the two know that Rudy was using his slightly weaker Genjutsu to hypnotize the two to fully understand his lessons, he didn't forget to forcefully engrave this knowledge so they won't forget it.
When afternoon came, Ghyslaine then thought Rudy and Eris about swords. Eris, who already begin her sword training with her, are now doing full swings simultaneously.
"Your father tells me that you are now in bottleneck and couldn't improve your abilities. But no matter how I saw your mock battle with Paul, I'm starting to think that you're probably lying..." Ghyslaine was now doubting Rudeus's purpose on accepting this job.
"Though you can see that my magic was remarkable enough, I still need some guidance on how to unlock my sealed powers." Rudy then decided to tell her about his Zanpakuto.
Ghyslaine was still thinking deeply about what he said, if it's true, then she might know some method that could probably help to release this sword.
"Since you said that you can make a powerful sword, but only if your soul and body are united, then I can probably help you." When Ghyslaine said this, Rudy suddenly embrace her without warning.
Eris suddenly stops swinging her sword and throw it with accuracy to Rudy. Rudy immediately breaks her embrace to Ghyslaine and grab the hilt while the sword was still in mid-air. He made this reality using his Shunpo skillfully.
"Eris, that's dangerous! You can make Ghyslaine hurt accidentally if you do that." When Rudy said this, Ghyslaine tried so hard to do her poker face, so he won't notice that she was pleased.
"Then don't do that to Ghyslaine again. Or I'm going to hit you once more." Eris didn't understand why she was angry when she look at Rudy happily hugs Ghyslaine.
"Okay Eris, I won't do that again." Though he can make a reasonable excuse like his emotion made him do it, Rudy still refrain himself and be mind to his actions. After all, he can't let Eris misunderstand that he likes her Sword Teacher.
After the shenanigans, Rudy then listen carefully on how he can connect with his inner soul.
"As a Sword King, we are capable to do things subconsciously while still being aware of our surroundings." Ghyslaine tried her best to explain carefully how this method works.
When Rudy listened to Ghyslaine's word of wisdom, he realized something that he literally didn't think of in the beginning. Ghyslaine didn't realize that she was explaining the common power up of the generation of miracles in Kuroko no Basket, which is 'The Zone'.
'Samadhi', 'Extreme Focus' or 'The Mind of Clear Water' are the other terms of 'The Zone' based on different anime. This method will lessen your mistakes and you will control your body at its fullest. To think that 'The Zone' will make him touch his inner soul.
Rudy suddenly remember something related to this. In Legend of Aang, Guru Pathik trained Avatar Aang to throw away any distraction until his mind was clear, then Aang will have a way to touch his inner soul and achieve the Avatar state.
He concluded that, if he used 'The Zone', he can make a path to his inner soul and unlock his hidden potential, which is his Zanpakuto, Senbonzakura.
Rudy give his sincere thanks to Ghyslaine and started to do 'The Zone'. There is a possible way to learn 'The Zone' even though you are not a talented athlete. In Baby Steps, Eiichiro Maruo, together with his coach, Ryuhei Aoi, visited a temple to learn Samadhi.
The monk tells them that you really didn't have to make your mind blank, just only focus on one thing. So Rudy do this method and start counting loudly in his mind while sitting cross-legged.
The Rules of Samadhi are simple, count numbers continuously, if other thoughts suddenly invades, start to one and count again. If your count was wrong, start to one and count again. Simply counting will make your mind focus until you achieve the Samadhi or 'The Zone' in layman's term.
At first, Rudy was having a hard time doing this. Knowing how to do it and making it a reality is not the same after all, but due to his Will of Fire, he won't give up easily until he reach 'The Zone' state.
'121, 122, 123...'
'340, 341, 342...'
'656, 657, 658...'
When Rudy reached one thousand, he realized that his entire body was somehow light. He carefully look at his surroundings and he was excited on what he was seeing right now.
Imagine a chocolate kisses, make it big and instead of triangle shape, make it square, and the paper that protrudes at the center of the box, make it white cloth instead. Millions of boxes with white cloth surrounds him.
"So I finally succeeded in achieving 'The Zone'. The next step is to find the right cloth and pull it." Rudy tried to use his Scarlet Sharingan and found out that he was enable to do it.
When you are in soul form, you can't use your mana or traits that are related to your body. That's why Aang and Korra couldn't do bending when they travel in Spirit world using there Spirit form.
Since he can't use his cheat to find the right cloth, the only thing that he could do is persevere and don't give up.
Time passed by, and Rudy, out of the corner of his eye, suddenly saw a box with red cloth. Without further ado, he approach it and instantly pull it out.
When the red cloth was finally open, the inside of the box shine brightly and 'The Zone' was immediately break.
Rudy open his eyes and saw his right hand grabbing a katana, which has the right weight for his arm. Ghyslaine and Eris suddenly approach him and asked how this curved sword suddenly appears in him.
"This is my personal sword, born from the deepest of my soul. You can probably call this weapon, Zanpakuto." Rudy proudly said it to the two girls who still mystified about the weird sword.
Now that he can make his Zanpakuto appear and disappear through only his will, Rudy then step up the game and decided to achieve his Shikai form.

As you noticed, I deliberately let Zenith misunderstood about Ghyslaine's rank in Sword god style, since it will be a good ice break when they meet again.
This is it for now, since it takes a lot of brain juices to make chapters. I'm going to rest for now.
