Chapter 31: Explained - Chapter 24

I walked into the office quickly and saw Ivy sitting there with my mom who was slowing sipping a cup of tea. Ivy's eyes widened when she saw me. Jumping up she ran towards me.
"Violet! Your back-" she paused her excitement when she saw who I walked in with. I was holding her hand softly as she slowly looked up.
"What?" I said. Ivy looked at Vikky before looking back at me. she sighed but looking at Vikky again and putting out a hand.
"Hi I'm-"
Vikky flinched back. Ivy's bright blue eyes slowly darkened in confusion. She scanned the girl before looking at me with angry eyes.
"Violet did you-"
My eyes went wide as I looked at her "what? No! No! I swear I didn't do that!" I exclaimed. Ivy looked and me and then Vikky again.
"Then who-" I quickly shook my head and pointed to Vikky who was still looking at the ground.
"At my house once Sara wakes up." I said. She glanced at us again before nodding and pointing to my mom.
"She wants to talk to you." Ivy said. I nodded slowly looking at Vikky who was tightly holding onto my hand.
"Vikky. " I said softly. She quickly whipped her head up before realizing and pulling her hand away.
"I'll be right back. Can you stay with Ivy for a second?" I said. She looked at Ivy who had a warm smile before nodding slowly. I waved goodbye before going up to my mom who was still sitting on the chair sipping her tea while playing god knows what game on her phone.
"Mom." I said snapping her out of her trance. She looked up at me before actually processing whatever she wanted to say.
"Oh ! Your here already, have a seat." She said. I nodded before sitting down next to her as me looked back up at me.
My mom had short brown hair that went just below her chin, her eyes where a light hazel and her face looked much like mine, if not for my dyed blue hair, we would look extremely similar.
"So what happened to Sara and who is that poor girl next to Ivy?" My mom said. I shrugged before explaining the situation with Sara.
"She ran off during lunch to go to the bathroom and when we went to go find her she was passed out, Vikky is a classmate that I'm working with on a project for school. I had already arranged her to come over today but with the whole Sara fiasco I don't think we can work on much." I lied. My mom nodded slightly before glancing at Vikky again.
"So, what will happen to Vikky?" My mom asked.
I rubbed the back of my neck and looked at her again.
"About that, I was wondering if she could sleep over?" I said looking up at my mom to read her expression. She looked at me for a second lost in thought.
"Mom?" I said. She snapped out of her daze and looked back at me.
"Oh! Yes yes she can sorry about that. Will ivy be sleeping over as well? And Sara?" She asked. I thought for a second and nodded.
"Yes they will." I answered, but when I looked back at my mom she had already taken her phone out and was playing a game.
"Mom!" I said. She jumped slightly and looked back at me.
"Sorry sorry! Ok yes yes that's fine." She said before standing up.
"Get your friends to meet me in the car after they've taken there stuff or something." She said, walking to the car while still looking at her phone. I rolled my eyes and walked up to Ivy and Vikky. They were both standing there in silence before they noticed that I came back.
"My mom said that you can come over, and don't worry about packing or anything I have a bunch of extra stuff you can use or wear for the night." I explained to the both of them. Ivy nodded her head but Vikky stood there dumbfounded.
"Me.. as well?" She asked. I looked at her and nodded.
"But I don't know you guys." She said. I shrugged.
"You don't have to If you don't want to, I can have my mom drop you off at your house." I said. She shook her head before looking at me.
"No, it's fine, I can come if that's fine with you." She said slowly.
I nodded my head.
" alright well, what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Ivy yelled.
"W-Wait!" Vikky said. Ivy and I both looked at her.
"My bag is in my locker."

Walking quickly to my locker, I opened it and took out my grey and backpack. Stuffing random things inside I sighed and thought about everything that had happened today. Just as I was about to close my locker, a hand slammed into the locker next to me. Jumping, I whipped my head around and was shocked to see Garret's red eyes staring back at me in anger.
"You!" He said. I winced when he grabbed my arm tightly.
"Come with me." He said. My heart dropped in my chest as I thought of going back to the place he called a house and staying there.
Someone had finally come to save me from him and now I would let myself be dragged back?
I pulled my arm out of his grip. He turned around glaring at me. I tried my best to put on a hard face and I looked at him.
"No." I said. He looked somewhat shocked as he's glare got harder.
"Excuse me?" He said. I could see he's anger building up but I took a fee breath and looked at him.
"I said no." I repeated. His face turned ugly as he moved closer to me. I slowly moved back but he only came closer. Until my back was pressed up against the lockers did he really loose it. He grabbed me by my buttoned up uniform and pushed me harder against the locker.
"Say it again. I dare you." He threatened, I could fell my heart beating in my throat.
"No." I said. His expression darkened even more and he slammed my back against the lockers.
I groaned loudly and tried to rip his hand off of my chest.
"Stop-" I could barely get out a sentence before I was thrown against the lockers again.
"Say it! Say it!" He yelled while repeatedly slamming me against the lockers. I cried out loudly praying that violet or ivy or anyone would hear me.
Suddenly, Garret was thrown off of me and was slammed into another section of lockers.
I winced as I tried to get up but only fell to the ground, I looked over and saw a guy with jet black hair and glowing golden eyes pinning Garret to the lockers while punching him repeatedly.
"Stop! Stop!" I croaked out, but my voice was already leavening from how much I screamed before.
My yells to stop soon turning into a coughing fit as I has my hand clenching my chest as I tried to gasp for air.
"S-Stop." I managed to get out before my body gave out. I tried to push my self if the floor as my ears started to ring from the repeated sounds of a body being slammed against the lockers. Suddenly the slamming stopped and I heard footsteps slowly make there way towards me.
"Wait, Stop." I could barely say, I tried to crawl away but the footsteps kept following me.
"Stop!" I tried to yell while crawling faster, tears on the verge of falling out. Soon I gave up and fell on the cool floor, a few more turns and I would have made it back to Violet and Ivy.
"I'm not going to hurt you." The voice interrupted my thoughts, slowly they kneeled in front of me and lifted me up. I looked at at the guy and soon recognized the face.
It was the same guy I saw on my was to school a few days ago.
"You!" I meant to say, but my voice was gone from my constants screams. The guy smiled softly as if understanding what I meant to say.
Even in such a desperate situation my heart beat started to speed up from the angel in front of me with bright golden eyes.
"Stay still." He said, still carrying me. He walked slowly to the office in silence.
"You." I said, pointing at him, he looked down at me.
"You helped me?" I mouthed to him. He looked at me for a second before nodding.
"Why?" I mouthed again. He looked at me but just smiled without saying anything. Just as I was about to ask another question, I heard Violets loud voice yell my name.
Soon they both came running up to me with worry written on there faces.
"Vikky what happened? Who is this?" They said as soon as they reached me. I was about to open my mouth when Adam-the one who saved me- interrupted me.
"And where were you guys huh? When she was getting slammed into lockers where were you?" He questioned them. I turned to see there guilty faces staring down at the floor.
"She could have been killed!" He yelled, his voice sent shivers down my spine as I clamped my eyes shut. When I opened my eyes I noticed his gaze was on me as his eyes softened.
"Sorry, just. Look out for her, ok?" He said looking back up at Violet and Ivy who nodded slowly.
Sighing, he put me on the ground feet first as I slowly climbed out of his embrace. Once I stood up fully, I noticed that the burning pain in my back was gone. I quickly looked up at Adam who was already looking at me.
"What did you.." I started mouthing to him. He smiled softly again before turning around and walking away. I quickly grabbed his shoulder before he walked far off. He turned around and looked at me.
"My name is-"
"Vikky. Right? Your friends said that earlier." He interrupted me. I nodded my head and slowly dropped my arm from his shoulder. He stared at me as I stared back at him, for some reason I didn't want to take my eyes off of him. I blinked out of my trance and quickly turned around to face Ivy and Violet who were looking at me smugly.
I looked at them confused but they simply shrugged and waved it off.
"Let's get going, Sara's in the car." Violet said.
