A few days later, Eun Young's parents decided to pay the kids a visit. The two elders were often at home if they weren't out with some old friends. Thus, they were frequently bored. Kim Cho Ah cooked a lot of dishes that morning--making it as an excuse to visit the children. Well... how could Kim Dong Yun say no to that? Of course he wanted to see his precious grandchildren too and so without hesitation, he definitely agreed.
After a packing a few things, the couple went to visit their daughter's home right away. The traffic was moderate and so it took them a while on the road. Soon, they finally arrived. Mrs. Bong opened the door and was surprised with the sudden visit of Madam and Master Kim. Luckily, they had always kept the house clean and tidy. Every thing was in order so there was nothing to be worried about.
"Ah, Mrs. Bong how are you?" Kim Cho Ah politely greeted. She knew that Mrs. Bong had been a kind and loyal helper to the family and with that, she was very thankful.
"I'm alright Madam Kim! Thank you for asking." Mrs. Bong bowed in respect. "Allow me to carry these for you Madam." She said as she retrieved the heavy fruit basket from Cho Ah's hand.
The elders noticed that Eun Young and Min Jae weren't around. Furthermore, Mrs. Bong explained that the kids were asleep. They were exhasuted from playing and so they took a quick nap. The couple was very disheartened to have heard this. However, not long after, they were surprised to hear little steps echoing from the staircase. They were gathered at the dining area and so as soon as the little ones emerged, the frowns from Cho Ah and Dong Yun's faces were instantly replaced with joyful smiles.
"Grandma! Grandpa!" Little Jung Hyun and Hye Soo enthusiastically cheered upon seeing their grandparents.
Baby Hye Soo was overly excited that she stumbled as she made her way to the elders. Everyone was alarmed but luckily, Dong Yun was near her so he was able to help her get back up. "Be careful little dumpling." Dong Yun gently reminded before picking her up to carry her.
Meanwhile, little Jung Hyun was ecstatic as he planted a soft kiss at Cho Ah's cheek. "Grandma! Grandma! I have so much to tell you!" The young boy announced. Oh he's quite a storyteller indeed! The last time he saw Cho Ah, he promised that he'll tell her a lot of stories again. And now, he simply can't wait! Kim Cho Ah couldn't be anymore proud and happy to see her excited grandson.
That afternoon, they all had lunch together. Cho Ah was very pleased seeing that the children were also enjoying their food. They ate vigorously and they really had a great time together as little Jung Hyun entertained them all with his stories.
Secretly, Mrs. Bong informed Eun Young and Min Jae that Madam and Master Kim had visited. Even though the elders did not say a word about it, she couldn't help but notice that they disliked the idea of their grandchildren left at home without their parents. Eun Young and Min Jae stepped out of work immediately upon receiving the news from Mrs. Bong. Eun Young most especially knew how her parents adored the kids that her mother even suggested that they all live together so that they could personally look after them. Apparently, hers wasn't the winning argument.
Coincidentally, Eun Young and Min Jae arrived at the same time. Eun Young alighted from the driver's seat of her own car. On the other hand, Secretary Yoo opened the door of the vehicle to reveal a dashing man in a business suit, Min Jae. He was physically there but obviously, his mind was still at work. Giving the documents he was holding to Secretary Yoo, he ended the call before glancing at Eun Young.
As soon as his lovely brown eyes landed on hers, Eun Young suddenly felt concious and embarrassed. She diverted her gaze and swallowed before finally speaking. "I'm sorry... I didn't know my parents were coming today. If I had known then I would filed for a leave at work today." She said.
It was a shame that the elders visited at such a wrong timing. Both of them had been busy at work. Eun Young didn't want her parents to think that they were being careless when it comes to the kids. They do spend time with them to the best of their abilities. It's just that their schedules had been tight during the past few days.
"It's alright." Min Jae replied. "I'll just have Secretary Yoo bring over the documents I need so I can stay here while looking after the kids." He simply said and in an instant, they now had a solution.
Eun Young looked at him upon hearing his response. Fortunately he was looking elsewhere but... what?! It could work though but that would be too much of hassle for him! Of course, Eun Young had to disagree. She tried convincing him that her parents would soon let it go but he seemed determined to go with his plan. Eun Young remained skeptical about it.
When they finally entered the threshold, the kids were again very happy to see them. Even little Hye Soo struggled out of grandpa's arms just to hug her own father!
"Mom, Dad! Why the sudden visit?" Eun Young asked, trying her best keep her composure.
"An old woman's life is boring dear. Don't even think for one second that I could spend the rest of my days in a staring contest with your father." Cho Ah retorted. Eun Young finally relaxed as she realized that her mother was feeling jolly today. She was even in the mood to crack jokes!
Kim Dong Yun didn't miss this though. As usual, he wouldn't allow his wife to trample on him like this. Eun Young rolled her eyes as she sensed that her parents were about to begin their lovey-dovey bickering again. "Shame on you woman. I had been staring at you since the day my eyes landed on you and I could continue so for the rest of my life... and this is how you pay me back?"
