Chapter 66: The Little Pumpkin
On hearing dad's words and little Julie's small sound, Joan started speaking to her from bathroom,. "oh my sweet little pumpkin, mama will come just now.... Mamma's sweet little pumpkin, my baby won't cry... Mamma's baby won't cry... Oh my little pumpkin.." she continued saying this until she came out of the bath.
By this time Julie stopped crying and listened to her mamma's voice.
She opened the bathroom door. She wrapped herself in a towel and has not dried her hair. She took Julie in her hand and went to the chair. She started feeding her bottled milk. Watching all these, Charlie took another towel and started drying her hair.
"It's okay Charlie, just go and take a bath. You are tired. We can have dinner fast." She asked him.
"Let me do this first. If you got cold or flu, it won't be fair. Take care of your health. I am here for you. It's my duty and you are not able to dry it because you had to take care of our little pumpkin..". He kissed Joan's forehead and kissed little pumpkin too. Julie was so famished that she was sucking the nipple hard. Joan sensed that this won't be enough for her. She has an additional bottle kept sterilized to use if needed.
"Charlie, get me that bottle in the draw. It's a sterilized one. Please fill two scoops of lactogen to it and add water from the flask. Please rinse the bottle with hot water first."
"See my pumpkin, you are soooo hungry... My chweet hear'ts daddy is making fooood for youuuu... My cheweet cutie pie... ". She continued talking to her.
Charlie kept the milk ready and went to bathroom. She had left everything there as she came out in a hurry. He arranged the soiled dress in the basket and other things on its place. He never ever did these things before but now he don't want to burden her. When he came out, the pumpkin was on the bed and was trying hard to get into prone position and her mamma was encouraging her.
When she saw him back, she kept the pillows on either side of the pumpkin and opened her wardrobe to find a dress for her. She changed her dress. She got baby's towel and dipped in luke warm water. She then sponged Julie with it and changed her diaper.
"Why is it soo red here?" she noticed redness in baby's groin area, her back and down below. She was worried.
Charlie also got tensed on seeing this. "Lets go to the doctor?" he was really worried.
"I will call Lea or mom first.". She already dialed Sheila's number.
"Mom, Julie's down below area is reddened. When I sponged her in the morning, everything was fine. I don't know what happened now. Mom, i am afraid. "
"Don't panic dear, it's diaper rash. Use baby cream after cleaning her. Also don't make her wear diaper always. Leave her free. A cotton loose trousers will do. Buy more for her and don't put diaper when she is at home. Once she starts lying prone, you can use potty for her."
"Thank you mom. I was scared. I will put the cream now itself. Take care mom, hope all are fine there."
"Yes dear, now take care. Goodnight"
"Goodnight"
She cleaned her again with water and applied baby cream. She put a loose trouser on her and advised Charlie to get more tomorrow.
They went downstairs to have their dinner.

Edward was discharged from the hospital that day and went home. He never talked to Jane after he understood that she gave blood to Lea.
Deep in his heart, he eyed for SM and was planning to get her daughter Leena married to Fred. Fred was divorced at that time. He used Jane and Sheila's friendship for that. Sheila and Jane has a strong relationship and because of Leena's character, Jane was afraid that if she married Fred, everything will end up in a disastrous way. She was against this. Still she asked Fred about his opinion. He rejected it.
Edward was really angry because he was aware that Fred is the only heir for SM. How can he remain calm... Of course SM is more powerful than his and he actually owned this firm when he married Jane. If he did not, he would have remained as a small restaurant owner. Now he doesn't have a male heir and Leena is not at all capable of doing these things other than flirting. She does not have good manners and never hesitated to hurt others. Though he was bothered by her character, he thought Jane will somehow work this out. But Fred married Michael's wife and now there remains no chance for Leena. Also they have Hanna, a heir now. He envied Joseph and Sheila too..
Jane entered their bedroom with a cup of milk for him.
"Keep it there and leave immediately. I don't want to see you any more" Edward 'barked' at her.
"You are behaving like this because I gave blood to Fred's wife, right? Don't forget you will have to ask her for blood if I ended up in need of blood. " She reminded him.
"I will let you die than begging her." said the cruel husband.
His words were very sharp like a dagger and it pierced her heart.
May be these all are because of the curse from Desmond and my baby. I don't know where she is alive out not wherever you are, be safe darling. I was not aware what your grand parents did to you until recently. Forgive me. Forgive me. I spoke to your dad about this. He will somehow find you. I am sure I will get a chance to beg you sorry before I die. Darling, I pray to Almighty to keep you safe and healthy.. always.
Her mind started remembering her past. Oh god... Make my Desmond happy too. I know he loved me a lot. .Who knows ups and downs in the life. Make him happy and unite him with our kid. She may be a young woman now.
She felt sad when she thought of herself. Loving one man deeply in her heart while living with another man. Is she faithful to her husband?... May be physically only... not mentally. Her love for Desmond will never fade ever in her life... Till her last breath.
She was shocked when she came to know that Desmond was sent to Mental Hospital after their breakup. Though he came back to normal, he never married again. She spoke to him. They cried a lot and she told him all the details regarding her delivery. DESMOND will find out her daughter.
