Chapter 4: After One Year
The visit to Diagon Alley was quite fruitful for William. It confirmed that this is truly Harry Potter world.
William drawn some conclusion after his visit, first is there is no mention of time period before birth of Harry Potter, so his advantage reduced and second he had to stay clear from Dark Lord matter until his strength become significant compared to Dark Lord or Dumbledore.
Although William felt some doubts, he was confident that he could become wizard. Because for the moment, when he just transferred into original body he felt some weak trace of blue energy. When he just entered Diagon Alley, he felt that energy once again. Even though he did not know, if that energy is magical energy, it is the most probable explanation.
First thing he did after his trip, to review all the books. Books were quite easy to understand compared to modern day high school curriculum. But he knew, in Wizarding world theory will remain theory without practical it would be useless for diving deeper into the study.
From what he could remember there is no mention of meditation in Harry Potter books. Anyway he did not have anything to do he decided to add one hour daily meditation before exercise in morning.
Meditation is nothing but being in natural state and empty all thoughts from mind. Even though he could not feel magical energy, his perception of surrounding become clear and his thought process became smooth. William had feeling that meditation will be key for learning Occlumency.
William sets himself two goals for next two years. One is to earn money as much as possible to support his future endeavors and two feel magical energy to practice as many spells as possible.
During following year many changes happened in William. He got taller due regular physical exercises. Most noticible change was his eyes, his pupil changed from black to blue. With black hair, fair skin and blue eyes he looked quite charming.
The change in his eyes happened during half year ago, when to earn significant money he decided to use previous life talent that is of course fishing. The requirement of large and fresh fish is very important in London as Fish and Chips was one of the favorite dish in London.
When he jumped into the river to obtain large fish, his long forgotten magical energy starts to move on itself. After that time he was like fish in water and he had earned his first bucket of money from river. From that time, he decided to practice his control his magical energy and continue his meditation inside water where he can feel some sort of belonging.
Although he felt abundance of magical energy it was very hard for him to guide his magical energy. For better control of magical energy he decided to empty his reserves by practicing spells. Transfugration was quite hard for him compared to charms but by trial and error method he became quite proficient in all first years subjects.
William thought, "I have to at least get a basic understanding about Occlumency and Legilimency in next year, so I can protect my secrets properly"
Although it was very hard, he determined to properly shield his mind. And for that to happen he got wonderful idea that is of course meditate inside of water and then try Occlumency.
