Chapter 195: Uncontactable
"It should be real. The enemy shouldn't be able to take control of the people near us this quickly." Kazuya replied.
"But just look at the time that the message was sent. It's 3 a.m., you know? Shouldn't he normally be asleep at that time? And plus, if this was really real, what was the enemy doing near Ever Forest? Everything seems suspicious to me. How about we try calling him to confirm if this was really sent by Ron? Who knows, the enemy may have hacked his phone to lure us with this message." Lilica argued. She really felt that something was wrong with the message, even though she didn't know what.
"Okay." Kazuya nodded, even though he didn't think that the message was fake. He then dialed Ron's number, but he couldn't connect the phone no matter how long.
"How about we send some people to investigate there just in case?" Kazuya suggested after a while.
"But it's the Ever Forest. It's very dangerous, right?" Lilica replied worriedly.
"It's fine. We actually have a team or researchers trying to uncover the secrets of the Ever Forest. These people usually enter the forest once a month to do research anyways. We can just tell them to look out for the enemy. But they probably won't be able to search too deep inside since it's still a little too dangerous." Kazuya stroked her head to console her.
"Okay." Lilica agreed.
Kazuya then took out his phone to contact his father.
After a few seconds, the king answered, "Kazuya?"
"Father, I've gotten some clues from Ron about the enemy." Kazuya replied.
"Kazuki also got some clues from Ron too. I heard that the enemy had been sighted near Ever Forest, so I've already instructed our specialized team to look out for him." the king said.
"I see. By the way, I couldn't call Ron at all. Lilica felt a little suspicious about the text we got so she wanted to confirm it with Ron, but we couldn't contact him at all." Kazuya reported.
"Hm… I'll see if Kazuki can contact him."
"Okay." Kazuya replied before he hung up.
"I just hope that nothing happens to Ron." Lilica murmured worriedly. She considered Ron as her friend as she didn't want something bad to happen to him.
"Hey, why are you worried for some guy who's not your husband." Kazuya asked, his voice filled with jealousy.
"I'm just worried for him as a friend. You don't need to be jealous." Lilica chuckled as she gave him a light peck on the lips.
"Then if I were to be worried about Lilienne, wouldn't you be jealous too?" Kazuya asked, expecting her to feel jealous.
"That's different! Of course, I would be jealous since she was your first love. First loves are special after all." Lilica pouted.
"You know, she's actually not my first love. My first love was the girl who gave me the plushie, and that makes you my first love, wifey~" Kazuya explained as he gave her a deep kiss.
"Hey, no more messing around! You still have to go join the investigation today, right?" Lilica pushed him away when she noticed he was about to push her over.
"Can I not go? I wanna be with you…" Kazuya whispered childishly, making Lilica's heart feel ticklish.
"You can't! Didn't you tell me something about your responsibility as a prince yesterday? Are you going to betray your words?" Lilica looked at him sternly.
"Fine. Then let me hug you before I go." Kazuya said as he hugged her while walking out of the room to the dining room for breakfast.
Lilica let out a helpless smile as she snuggled herself in his warm embrace.
During the whole time they had breakfast, Kazuya didn't let go of Lilica and even made her sit on his lap so they could eat together while hugging. The servants all looked at them with a teasing smile, making Lilica extremely embarrassed.
After breakfast, Kazuya finally got ready to go out. However, he was still unwilling to part with her.
"Come on. Everyone's waiting, right?" Lilica tried to make him let go.
"I know. Give me a deep kiss then I'll go!" Kazuya sweetly smiled as he waited for her to kiss him.
Lilica tip toed and kissed him obediently, saying, "Even if you don't ask, I'll still kiss you."
At that moment, Kazuya thought, 'My wife is the cutest!'
"Now go and do your best in locating the enemy!" Lilica said as she pushed him out of the house. She knew that if things continued at this rate, Kazuya would surely refuse to go out again.
"Okay… Stay safe." Kazuya replied dejectedly.
"You too." Lilica replied as she waved him goodbye before walking inside the house.
Ven, who was watching by the side, made him feel like this couple were way too sweet to each other. Why was it that compared to these two, his relationship with Ventina felt so dry, even though they got together later than Lilica and Kazuya, and should still be in their honeymoon period? Was it perhaps because Ventina dislike displaying their affections for each other publicly?
