Chapter 2: Rebirth
"Hurry up, get some more hot water and clean towels!"
"Princess, please hold on. Help is on the way."
"No! It's still too soon. He's not due for another two weeks!"
"Calm down princess, or you might hastened your birth!"
"Edna! He's coming!"
"Okay, princess please push!"
Chaos ensued as the princess kept taking longer and longer time to give birth when finally...

"Congratulations princess, it's a healthy prince."
"Let me... let me see him."
Edna carried the newly born prince to wash before handing the baby back to his mother. The prince look cute with his eyes struggling to open but his hair...
"Hehe... Edna look at him. He's just like me."
Edna noted the similarities between the Princess' eyes and mouth with the newly born prince. However his high nose highly resembled the King's.
"But princess, the prince's hair is..."
"Edna, I will name him Elmer. His hair is fine. It will allows him to be free than trapped in this place. Look after him for me, will you Edna?"
"Yes princess." Edna answered while tears kept falling down her face looking at the frail princess that is slowly growing weaker by the second.
"That's good. Tell him that I lov..." The princess started to say before her breath suddenly stopped.
"Princess! Princess! Someone help!" Edna shouted for someone or anyone that can save the princess but unfortunately...
"We're sorry Miss Edna but the princess had died. There is nothing more we can do" The doctors spoke after some time.
"No! Princess no! It can't be!"
"Uwaa~~"
The prince cried as if knowing that his mother had just left him. Loud sobbing filled the room at the death of the princess.

In another part of the castle
"Your Majesty, the princess had given birth to a baby boy but his hair..."
"Give the princess a proper burial and place the prince in the rear room. Don't let anybody know of his existence. We'll talk about the prince later."
"Yes, your majesty." His minister noted the King's fatigue as he bid his leave from the room.
'I better halts the other appointment and stopped the delivery of documents needed to be signed for the time being.' The minister continues to think to himself.
The king watched as his minister exited the room before sitting weakly on the throne. Sadness seems to surround the king at this moment.
...
But unknown to all, the prince weakly tries to open his eyes to look at the dead princess as recognition filled the infant's eyes.
I am breathing?
Why am I breathing?
Strange. Everything should have ended. I should have certainly died.
I hear voices of peoples that are talking loudly for some reason. I tried to open my mouth to speak but no words come out as I heard a baby crying for attention.
Wait! That crying is from me. I'm a baby?!
What's happening? Is this the so called transmigration novel that I read about during my past life?
I hears strange language being spoken but somehow several words caught my attention.
Mother? Is it mine? Died?
Then I heard someone wailed about my mother. I tried to open my eyes again to look at her but it's useless. All I kind of see is the blurry image of a lady with blond hair lying on the bed peacefully.
No! Why is my mother dead?

Somehow, I'm getting sleepy with all this thinking. I assess my situation tomorrow. I'll just sleep for now but then it is a baby's duty to sleep.

"Someone quickly get the prince out of here. We need to bury the princess post haste! Have somebody informs the King?"
"Yes Edna. The King said to bury the princess according to the tradition."
"That's it? The King only said that?" Edna said softly as she gazed sorrowfully at the Princess' body.
"Yes Edna."
"Okay. Let's give the Princess our last farewells."
