Chapter 24: A Sunflower

The will of those two got engraved on the house's walls, doors, floors, and heart. It was an un-said, not heard will that everyone heard and therefore everyone sensed.

.

The night started engulfing the house, sleep arrived and carried them all to bed. I was there all the time; like now documenting the history we wrote by our own hands. Or so we thought.

Soon after they all fell asleep, no human voice spoke anymore. The clocks on the walls clicked and clacked, promoting the night and denying the following day. The mornings here are loud. The poor clocks just can't speak, and even if they do, no one will hear.

I am a human too. So I needed to sleep. I waited for the clocks to stop or at least to click and not clack, for their voices were loud and kept me away from my sleep...

A few hours and dawn rose, but I was so tired to wake up. I stayed up most of the night. I slept for 5 more hours and knew that I will soon have to wake up.

I rose from the couch at my guest lounge. It wasn't soft but its color was warm; a camel leather. I liked it.

Although the day had started, the light from outside was dim. Neither did I hear any wind, nor did I hear any rains. I walked my way out from the lounge to my master bedroom, changed my clothes, and got ready to leave my wing. I thought of the best place I could have had my breakfast in. the sunflower garden. It was the best. Not very far, so didn't have to walk for long.

Although the sky was dim, the sunflowers stood long and tall. I went a little more in, and unexpectedly HE was on a seat by a table in the center of a sunflower garden under a dim cloudy sky.

.

I could hear his steps coming closer. A step after a step, he came to where I was sitting. He stood still.

"You know, the weather is nice. It's cloudy and hopefully, it's gonna rain. I like the rain. I like its sky and the smell of the breeze that it carries with it... come sit, Arthur."

.

Li Jun called me. This was his first time inviting me. It was a dim cloudy late morning, and we sat together under its sky in a sunflower garden.

Note: This volume (V1) and (V2) both run together, if you see that the story has not been updated, that must be the second volume. I'm trying to post at least once a day. Thank you for your understanding.
