Chapter 9: The Poor Tree
Her green eyes and almost white hair drew a lot of attention to herself so her master decided to take her in.
When he approached her she had used her ability unwittingly. Back then it was natural to use bits of energy here and there.
If her scrap of food was about to be eaten by a dog she would shoot it with a rock. Her ability was really strange.
Even Amaris wasn't sure on all of its uses. Her master had originally only wanted to protect her because she was a little girl lost in the slums with unusual features.
Now however once he saw her use her ability to throw sand in his eyes, he decided to take her in so that she wouldn't end up being unable to control herself.
When she was first taken in he had her try out her abilities on the biggest tree in the vicinity. Master told her to focus on the tree and visualize the energy around her concentrating at one point.
The imagine the tree being sliced in half and eventually melting into the ground. This was what Amaris had done when she was 6 years old.
The tree barely sustained any damage and there weren't very many cracks. Amaris would try her ability out on the tree once a year. First, she would attempt to destroy it then she would use her ability to heal the tree so she could use it next year.
Without thinking Amaris had just struck the nearest tree. Now the tree that had stumped her for so long that she had been unable to leave more than a scratch on was completely gone.
Amaris was afraid. Scared. She knew that whatever she was doing with her ability wasn't normal. what she had envisioned just now when she attacked the tree was to cut it in half.
Every time she tried to do this she would only scratch it. No, something else was the cause of this tree's demise.
