Chapter 3: The Chase
looking back at the crowd echo couldn't help but feel nervous because of the annoyed and anger look on their face. he doesn't understand why they are like that but with all the killing intent they are releasing echo just decided to run as quickly as he can first.
Leifhandor is a medium size town that is surrounded by thick roots and vines acting as a wall to protecting it from danger, on each direction lies a gate that leads to a different biome in order to give the young creatures a variety of path to evolve, from the north you will be able to go to the mountainside, while on the south is a beach which leads to the ocean, in east is a vast jungle with a huge volcano at the heart of it, at the west is an endless savanna where the waters is said that it can make a beast stronger and lastly the center is a huge tree in which is used as the town hall and also a pathway to the cloud islands.
the area that echo spawn to is located at the north east part of the town and the nearest exit for him is obviously the north and east gate however reaching any of this area can be a bit troublesome as the main market is on the east while on the north is a commercial area where there are only a few place he can hide and with his noisy status echo doubt that he will be found out quickly.
~ring.. wang ring~
thinking of this echo couldn't help but look back at his pursuers and saw that there's a lot more compared earlier. "crap why are they so many" echo protest to himself as he continue to run faster and began to formulate his escape route. "okay if i where to go to the east gate there will be more crowd that will chase me so that's technically out of my option while on the north has fewer places to hide all i need is to exit the town, hmm.... so what i need to do is find a way i can circle to that exit."

looking back on the times echo was a beta tester he tries to remember the possible routes of the town as he done an extensive research here before in hopes of getting some hidden treasures, though his harvest at that time is small in terms of treasure the biggest gain that he received was learning a bunch of shortcuts to some part of the town, ruins, secluded areas and dungeons in which he frequently use as time went on.
as he probe his memory he suddenly remembers a certain tunnel located near a burrow with tons of flowers above and that tunnel will lead to the center tree, "that tunnel will probably slow them down as it is a narrow line and if the slowpokes are at the front it will be better, also after that tunnel there is and opening on the left side of the tree that leads to the north-west part of the town in which is a hidden exit that will be used for a certain quest!" finally thinking of a plan the little rabbit couldn't but be excited. he decided get more distance by changing his direction so that he can adjust his pace as he will need his stamina more later.
"damn this rabbit is fast" complained by the wolf besides the horse "don't worry he will need to slow down at any moment to recharge his stamina" the stamina system is introduced on the second week of the beta phase this refers to movement and action a certain beast can use either by jumping, running, or using skills it will cost a certain number of stamina. although stamina can recover slowly once you lower your pace or stop action it is in fact advantageous to have a bigger pool of stamina.
having 200 as a base stamina echo sure has the advantage in this part and upon noticing this his pursuer now started using strategy "everyone let's split we need to cut his escape route or else we won't be able to capture him."
~ring.. wang ring~
"ha ha you guy's now started using strategies huh? well just try and catch me" echo shouted as he see's his pursuers decided to move in teams then he began to use the skill <leap> to jump on a tent stall then use it as a trampoline to go to the roofs of the houses and then proceed to his target escape route.
"hurry after him!!" angrily commanded by the big mouthed horse to his companions as they tried to copy his movements but only nine of them is able to manage to do it as for the others including the horse they just helplessly followed him on the land.
"got to admit you guys have some skills" laughing at them echo continued in using the skill <leap> to jump from one roof to another as echo's stamina quickly drains. "ha ha you can't catch me that way c'mon try to use some skills" falling on his taunt some of his pursuer started to use some of their beast movement skills however only a few manage to execute it properly. "well what i can expect from some newbies" ending his taunting echo suddenly stops and wait for his pursuers.
~ring.. wang ring~
"by the way guys why are you chasing me?" confused with this question his pursuers suddenly stops "you scammed me" complained by the horse "you're not included idiot and beside's it's not technically a scam i did point you to the source of that noise" echo complained "oh right you did point me to the culprit.... wait that's not the problem here, the problem here is that you tricked me!" upon realization the horse is ready to tackle echo but suddenly he heard his companions complains so he stop himself first and listen echo.
"the glass antlers that i hunt shattered because of that noise"
"my quest wasn't able to proceed because the old man hear that noise and started to get mad at me"
"yeah me too"
"the price suddenly goes up when i tried to haggle because of that noise"
hearing their complaints echo couldn't help but be dumbfounded "wait a minute? i don't remember having that effect on the passive skill <noisy hunt> and the noisy effect should just be my beast making some annoying sound not to the extent of breaking glass antlers?" echo think to himself but regardless of that he tried to probe for some info to get the real picture on what's happening and to get some time to recover his stamina.
"i'm not the one responsible for that one? it's you guy's fault for being careless" hearing this the crowd become more angered and shout "NO! you are responsible for this if wasn't for that noise we won't experience this trouble!!"
~ring.. wang wang ring~
a bit annoyed to the response of the crowd he then ask "how did those things happen can you explain it to me" pointing at those beast that voiced their complaints he started to slowly back away from the crowd and stand near to the hidden hole on the ground, but suddenly he heard the most unreasonable reason he ever heard so far and fully regretted trying to explain is side
"i was on my way back to the market to trade the glass antlers and when i heard the sound i suddenly covered my ears, but then i saw my glass antlers shattered on the ground."
"i was startled and shouted f**** that noise when i was receiving my quest rewards."
"i was haggling but suddenly the lady increases the price."
echo: *...*
horse: *...*
face palming their face upon realization on how dumb their reason was even the horse felt weak and ashamed at what happened. "what a load of crap, clumsy, cursing at the old man sure i can take that but haggling?? of course if you haggle it may increase or decrease depending on how you do it" listening to his lecture everyone began to think what actually happen but then someone suddenly respond.
~ring.. wang ring~
"if you didn't produce that sound they wouldn't make that mistake!" looking at the person are where the person shout they saw a crow with a white pattern on his wings. "yeah his right if wasn't for you we will be able to avoid those mistake" hearing this everyone get's fired up and ready to attack any time.
not knowing who the person behind the crow echo still feel shivers on his spine because what that crow did is rekindle the fire of their anger which he put an effort to fan down. "ahh crap there's no point in reasoning to you guys bye bye^^" jumping on the hole beside the flowery burrow echo began to escape.
~tiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnggggg~
the crowd became surprised by the sudden disappearance of the yellow furred rabbit, unsure where he went the crow suddenly shouts "there's a tunnel beside that flowery burrow after him!!" everyone heard the crow and suddenly rush to the tunnel.

by the way those ~ring~ things is just the way i show that the rabbit is still emitting those sound and i don't want to write in the passage that he is still making sound so i put it like that and if your curious what kind of sound try to see the mirror on kamen rider ryuki^^
