Chapter 6: Chapter 5
It's been a week since I met her again. And I should say it's been a very good week so far. We became very good friends. At first I was kinda awkward though.
The day after we met she offered me the money I paid for her in the bar. I thought of refusing it but I still accepted it knowing girls nowadays get offended if I do that even though I didn't actually mind the money, well whatever.
Today we were having lunch together as usual.
"Hey, can I ask you a question?" I asked.
"Shoot" said.
"Why are you sitting with me and not with your friends?" I asked.
"Oh! You mind?" she asked with brows furrowed.
"Of course not, I just wanted know" I said.
"Oh! I realized I don't really have friends here" she said nonchalantly.
"What do you mean by that?" I blurted out. Idiot don't push her too much, just be happy she's sitting with you.
"Nothing too serious, I overheard my friends gloating and laughing about my breakup. It didn't sit that well with me, so I'm here." she said.
"Oh!" I said. Idiot again with that 'oh', don't you have any good responses, blockhead.
"Anyway, leaving my matter aside, what about you? Why don't you have any friends?" she asked.
"What gave you that idea? You're very mistaken. I do have friends, in fact I have lot of them. I just ditched them to sit with pretty you." Smooth, nice one bro.
"Seriously?" she asked chuckling.
"Of course, I'm serious" I said with poker face.
"And you want me to believe that? Why don't you say the real one?" she said.
I hesitated a bit but I still chose to say the truth, it's not like it's a big secret anyway.
"Three months back my parents died in an accident. I was depressed at that time and that's when college started too. So I didn't really make any friends." I tried to sound as nonchalant as possible.
She gasped, "I'm really sorry for that" she said and it did sound sincere.
I waved my hand and said "It's alright, it's been three months already and I did get over it" I said.
That day we competed our lunch in kinda awkward mood.
