I swept my gaze on the barren streets and the dead landscape. Narrow lanes cast with carcasses of discarded cars, I tread on carefully. My footfalls land on shards of glass of many colors. I travel far up and down the lanes. I leave the dead city to the countryside. My heart feels heavy like lead. I hear the sound of distant thunder and the humorless cackles of ravens. I enter an old abandoned house and explore it's austere interior. I find a old forsaken book and flip it's pages. The book releases an old musty smell and then as I look, the chinese words turn golden and start to rise from the pages. I feel myself absorb those words and they in return become a part of me. I become drowsy and fatigued. I fall asleep and enter a dream of a past love.
