Chapter 5: CHAPTER 5
Sammy and Lowen started drinking their coffee, the moment Robbie and Paslik went into trance. After 5 mins, Robbie and Paslik came to their senses. Robbie took the pamphlet and signed it immediately.
Sammy: "So, are you in?"
Robbie: "Don't you want to know what…"
Sammy: "I and Lowen have already gone through this. Later tonight, we can discuss more on this."
Paslik: "Welcome to ISSR, Robbie. Lowen will guide you on the next course of action. If you have more queries, ask Sammy."
Then Paslik and Lowen went away. Sammy told Robbie to meet him at 8 pm that night at their secret spot and then rushed out after them. Robbie slumped down, knowing that in the last 10 mins, his life had changed, for better or worse and it's never going to be the same.
Present Day…..
Sammy reaches London and goes straight to the Lowen's house where Lowen and Paslik are already waiting for him.
Sammy: "Whose great idea was it?"
Paslik: "It came straight from the top and Lowen executed it"
Sammy: "I am his best friend and partner. Why was I not involved in this?"
Lowen: "Because of the sensitivity of the mission, we were told not to"
Sammy: "So, when can Robbie come back?"
Lowen: "As soon as he kills him."
Sammy: "Killing him is almost impossible."
Paslik: "Which is precisely why Robbie's soul is inside Blake, his trusted advisor and Blake's soul is inside Robbie, who is being fed meds to be kept crazy and loony. Once Robbie kills him, they can switch their places and everything goes back to normal"
Sammy: "Then what was the point of kidnapping Robbie and then using your own name to treat him"
Paslik: "So that they think it is an internal war between different factions of ISSR and won't get involved in it. We can handle conspiracy theorists and humans. But when it comes to him and his network, we can't."
Sammy slumped down on the sofa nearby, lamenting the downfall of ISSR, from an organization which used to study supernatural and preserve mankind to something which is focusing on eliminating the one….
4 years back…...
Robbie was waiting on the roof of an under-construction building, which was being constructed where their building used to be. Sammy had bought the entire plot and the building and had bought everyone involved in it, effectively bankrupting the contractor. Sammy also bought the super, ensuring that all the wrong deeds of the contractor came out and made sure that he was punished. Robbie didn't want the super to go scot-free so he got the contractor to testify in name of the super for a reduced sentence. Both the friends got their revenge and are now constructing a skyscraper there. This has become their secret hangout area. It was a hard year indeed, from being homeless and jobless to rich and powerful. It was a roller coaster year indeed, or so Robbie thought. He didn't know how many parts ISSR was involved in it and was waiting for Sammy to come to answer all his questions.
While Robbie was lost in his thought, he heard footsteps on the stairs. He turned around to see Sammy coming up, with a casket of beers and a bag of chips. He came and sat down beside Robbie, putting all the stuff between them.
Robbie: "You sure were late"
Sammy: "Sorry man. Traffic. I am sure you have a lot of questions."
Robbie: "Yes I have. From when were you involved? And how deep is their involvement in our recent endeavours?"
Sammy: "For starter, I came across them while I was trading stocks on my system. Lowen saw me doing the trades and recognized the brilliance when I converted our initial 15k investment into 100K in a week. He made me meet Paslik and then after the psychic link and our meeting in his mind room, I started working with them. My primary job was to invest their war money in stocks and make sure that it is profited. Although There were some losses, I have managed to double their war money and now am using the profits to increase it further, bankrupting the evil organizations in the process, with none the wiser."
Robbie: "So, you are like their investment banker."
Sammy: "Kind of. It helped us too. Thanks to the initial investment and profits, I was able to start our business and expanded it to provide various services and products. I currently have full control over the profited money and can use it any way I want. So it's a win-win situation. They get more money as war money and at the same time, have another source of investment growth, away from their core group."
Robbie: "Wow. And did they help in the Building case too?"
Sammy: "They offered to. But I refused. This relationship is purely business and ours was one of revenge. So I said no to them. It wouldn't have that level of satisfaction if we don't take our own revenge"
Robbie: "Dude, I am speechless. But what now? Do you know what they will ask me to do?"
Sammy: "Whatever it is, remember you always have the choice to say no. Don't ever get pressured by them, even once."
Robbie: "I will definitely follow your advice. Now we are like secret agents on a secret mission to save the world"
Sammy: "Yes we are"
Robbie and Sammy fist bumped, drank all the beer cans, ate the chips and then passed out on the roof under the open sky, not knowing what fate has for them but hoping that they can save the world and the future.
