Doctor Han lowered his head and said, "I think you have a cold."
"Do you know that some kinds of food poisoning have an incubation stage?" Nian Junting narrowed his eyes, stared at Steward Wu and Doctor Han, then said, "Steward Wu, call Luosang and tell her about this. I bet she won't dare to go to that noodle restaurant again."
Steward Wu felt a little speechless. So it turned out that Nian Junting just wanted an excuse to call Luosang.
However, he couldn't speak out loud about what his young master was thinking. Instead, he found Luosang's number and made a call, but no one answered.
"Young Master, she turned off her phone," said Steward Wu to Nian Junting.
"Turn off her phone?" Nian Junting frowned and said, "Why did she turn off her phone for no reason? She's not having an accident, is she?"
"I don't think so, but she's an adult…" Steward Wu responded.
"What do you know? The day before yesterday, I sent her home and found out that she lives in Yunxi Ao. That is the most unsafe area in the city. I've heard that rape cases happen the most frequently over there…"
Doctor Han said confused, "How come I didn't hear about any bad things happened in that area?"
Steward Wu remained silent to agree with Doctor Han. He hadn't heard anything like that either.
"Do you need to hear about it to know? You'll understand that place has the worst social security once you see it," Nian Junting lifted his blanket and stood up. He continued, "Let's go take a look. After all, she's an unmarried woman and completely unfamiliar with the place and people from the neighborhood. She used to look after me, so if anything happens to her, people would see me, her ex-employer, as an unkind person."
Looking at his back, Steward Wu's mouth corners twitched.
'I've never heard you say something like that,' thought Steward Wu.
An hour later, a car parked before the small building that Nian Junting had visited two days ago. Steward Wu went upstairs to ask the landlord about Luosang's room number. Ten minutes later, he came back down to tell Nian Junting, "Young Master, the landlord said that Luosang checked out and left the morning before yesterday, not long after she came back."
Nian Junting's eyes immediately showed a grim look.
He stared straight at Steward Wu. Quite a while later, he said, "She left?"
"Yes," Steward Wu felt very uncomfortable under Nian Junting's gaze. "I heard that she went back to her hometown."
Nian Junting pressed his thin lips together.
Steward Wu continued, "It seems that nothing bad has happened to Luosang. Young Master, you can stop worrying about her."
Nian Junting stayed silent, brows knitted.
"Eh… If you're still worried, I can call Sister Miao from the Nursing Care Center. Maybe she knows Luosang's new number," said Steward Wu.
"No need," Nian Junting said frowningly after remaining silent for half a minute, "If I look for her, she might misunderstand me and think that I like her. She left because she wants to forget about me as soon as possible. That's a good thing for her."
Steward Wu was again speechless.
He didn't know what to say, because his Young Master again showed his narcissistic nature.
"Let's go back," Nian Junting closed his eyes, and leaned against the back of the seat.
He had an indescribable feeling, probably because he wasn't used to the fact that Luosang had truly disappeared from his world.
However, he understood that a man would have many passer-bys in life, and sometimes he couldn't do anything about that.
Eight months later.…
At eight o'clock in the evening, Luosang stood up after recording the last line. Supervisor Wang walked up to her, smiled and said, "Luo, thanks for your hard work in the past month. You've done an excellent job. I've already sent your wages to your account."
"Thank you," Luosang smiled and said, "The leading actor and actress of this online drama series both have great appearances and acting skills. The filming style is new and unique. It'll definitely become popular."
Supervisor Yuan laughed and responded with, "I hope so. After all, there're so many online series nowadays."
"Supervisor Yuan, do you know anyone else who needs a voice actress?" Luosang asked, eyes showing hesitation.
Supervisor Yuan paused briefly, then understood her meaning. He cherished Luosang's talent, so he looked at her and said, "An idol drama directed by Hong Yuxing is about to be finished. I've had meals together with him. I can ask him if he needs voice actors, but I'm not sure if he'll agree to hire you. How about this… I'll send him the best part of your dubbing from this online series. He's a professional director, so I think he'll be able to tell how good you are."
"Thank you so much." Luosang was surprised. She had heard about Hong Yuxing. Every idol drama directed by him has topped the charts. If she could get the chance to work with him, she would have some hope for a brighter future.
"You're recommended by Professor Ma, so that's what I should do." Supervisor Yuan looked at her in praising, and said, "Besides, you're even more professional than most experienced dubbers, and you have a great voice as well. It really has been a waste for you to dub online series. Alright, it's getting late. You should go back to school."
Luosang thanked him again, then took the subway back to her dorm.
All three of her roommates were in the room. That surprised her. In art school, many students would start working with film companies or would get part-time jobs the second semester of the third year of their studies. Tang Ning was doing an internship in a radio station and Yan Su was a bar singer. Ye Chuen had a great family background, so she had already signed a contract with a record company, and her first album was in preparation. Therefore, she hardly showed up in the dorm.
"Luo, you're finally back. Chuen just left to attend an activity. She brought many desserts and drinks," Tang Ning said after she waved at Luosang while biting a piece of cake.
"Nice. You're already attending activities?" Luosang smilingly picked up a cup of juice. She was thirsty.
"The company wants me to get familiar with all kinds of activities. They've sent some experienced singers to guide me." Ye Chuen was painting her toenails. She smiled proudly and continued, "Tang Ning quitted her radio station internship. She wants you to get her a dubbing job."
Luosang paused, then saw the begging look in Tang Ning's eyes. "The female anchor from that radio station was bullying me the whole time. And my wage was ridiculously little. I got so angry today, so I quit. Luo, you seem to be doing quite well in the dubbing circle; could you please introduce me to someone? I can dub for supporting actresses; it doesn't necessarily have to be the leading actress," she said.
"I'll definitely help you if I can. But I've just finished the online series that I've been working on. Now, I don't have any work to do either," said Luosang with a serious look. "Tang Ning, no matter what kind of job you do, it's normal for you to take pressure from the seniors. The dubbing circle is also complicated."
"I think you're doing it quite easily," Tang Ning pouted.
Yan Su couldn't bear hearing her complaints, so she said to Tang Ning, "That's because she didn't tell you about the difficulties. If she was truly doing as well as you say, she wouldn't be only doing online series now."
Luosang glanced at Yan Su gratefully.
Tang Ning sighed and said, "You're better than me anyway."
Luosang stayed silent.
Ye Chuen smilingly waved her hand and said, "Alright, alright, let's change the topic. Did you see the WeChat moments? Chi Shengxu is coming back to school tomorrow. He's finished filming his movie."
"Ah, no wonder you've suddenly started sleeping in the dorm again." Tang Ning chuckled and said, "But Chi Shengxu is good, indeed. He's the same age as us, but he's already made six or seven movies. He's so famous now. This time, he worked with award-winning actors and actresses in his new movie. I'm afraid he'll become an A-lister this year. Hm, he has a good background, and that's why he has great resources."
