"You're a daughter of the aristocrat and respected, Yiu family?!" Mu Shu's soft eyes widened as she asked the question.
The reaction of Mu Shu puzzled. What was wrong? Zuo Haoyang only introduced her. Being part of Yiu family.. isn't a big deal, right?
Even Gao ZhiLan, who was obediently eating his food, got stunned at her mother's reaction and curiously asked her mother, "Mommy, what's wrong?"
Mu Shu shook her head and looked at her son with a loving eyes. "Nothing baby. Just continue eating," she said and put okonomiyaki at Gao ZhiLan's plate.
Mu Shu then looked at them, "Sorry for my unkempt reaction earlier," she said and returned to her natural elegant aura, "It's that I never heard that the prominent Yiu family had a daughter. I've been in a lot of party where I met different daughters and heirress the socialite circle but I never met you." she said as a matter of fact.
Only then did Yiu Chunxiu realized that it was because she never participated in those parties since she was young. She wasn't exposed to the public eye so her existence was only known by few even in aristocrat circle.
She often played with her brothers when she was a child so her taste became boyish. Due to this, she couldn't relate when some mothers invite her to their kids tea party and she rejected the invitations for her after that experience. She became isolated to the socialite class and gradually, no one remembered her.
Yiu Chunxiu smiled at the woman in front of her, "I never really fancied parties before so I never attented. Maybe that's why I am not known in the circle."
Mu Shu nodded, "I see. Then I would become your first friend in the circle! Would that be okay?" She said with a genuine smile.
Yiu Chunxiu stared at her. How ironic. The current lover of her ex-boyfriend offered to become her friend. Does fate really hate her that much? Even though she wanted to refuse, she couldn't do that! Mu Shu was the cousin of her fiancé and she didn't do any harm to her.
"Sure!" Yiu Chunxiu smiled as if nothing was wrong with it.
The man beside him suddenly spoke, "You should let YunTian meet ZhiLan. For sure they can become playmates." Zuo Haoyang suggested.
Yiu Chunxiu froze.
Mu Shu was always with Gao Yishen so she was sure that Mu Shu was very familiar with his features. YunTian looked exactly like that man, as if her son was a carbon copy of Gao Yishen. If Mu Shu was going to meet the YunTian, her eyes could quickly detect that he looked like that man.
While Yiu Chunxiu couldn't respond, Mu Shu asked, "YunTian? Who's that?"
Zuo Haoyang looked at Yiu Chunxiu who didn't react, "What's wrong?" He asked with his eyes full of concern.
Only then Yiu Chunxiu woke up from her train of thoughts. She turned to Zuo Haoyang. "Nothing. I just wondered for a second what's YunTian doing right now. Sorry," she said apologetically to Haoyang.
She calmly answered Mu Shu, "YunTian is my son. His age is around ZhiLan's age so I'm sure they'll get along."
She couldn't let the two people here see that she was anxious about something. They might suspect that something was amiss. She must absolutely avoid meeting Gao Yishen especially when she was with YunTian or anyone in her family.
Mu Shu who was elegantly eating chicken teriyak choked and was stunned, "What? You also have a child?"
Before Yiu Chunxiu could answer, Zuo Haoyang spoke in her behalf, "Yes. Her son, YunTian, is also smart too! I heard that General Julong gave him the book of Sun Tzu's Art of War and learned a lot about military tactics about it. That child was also proficient in both English and Chinese and can even answer elementary level mathematics even though he is only four years old!" he said with his eyes beaming with pride as if he was showing off his very own son.
Yiu Chunxiu's heart was full of warmth when she heard how he was flaunting her son to Mu Shu, however it was the first time she heard that her Grandfather gave him that book! She find that book abstruse even at her age, how come her four years old son understand it?
"I didn't know that grandfather made him read such a book." She commented and sighed.
Her son genius that caused the men in their family to be proud of him. He was practically a treasure to the Yiu Family.
"It seems like even General Julong is fond of your son! Even my cousin is captivated by him. He must be really a good child. " Mu Shu complimented enthusiastically.
In this situation, Yiu Chunxiu was lost. She didn't know how to face this pure and innocent girl in front of her. She just forced herself to smile, "You're too kind. ZhiLan also looks a filial and smart kid! I bet he'll look handsome when he grow up!"
Gao ZhiLan looked at her and smiled, "Thank you Auntie!"
The more she looked at him, the more she was reminded of Gao Yishen's face. They really do have some similarities, although it was mostly from Mu Shu's feature. She can't deny that Gao ZhiLan was Yishen's son.
That guy. It seems like she would forever hide from him. His traces were everywhere.

Btw, would it be alright for you guys to shorten the chapter? Sometimes making this long chapter makes my update longer too. Sorry.
