Chapter 20: Chapter 19: Mutual benefits
Coulson can't utter a word for Lyr question. In his entire life of working in SHIELD he never knew the excistence of this so called magic, what is SHIELD, SHIELD is the greatest spy in the world they have eyes basically almost everywhere and yet they didn't even have a single and tiny bit of information about this magic.
but seeing Lyr perform an almost impossible thing he have nothing to say but to believe that this Magic thing is true. In the entire history of information in SHIELD there was no mutant who was sighted with multiple powers but this guy in front of him clearly have multiple powers, fire that burns the two robbers, psychic powers that make froze like an statue, the shield he use to block the bullets and that strange black gate he used to make people appear out of thin air. This is clearly not the work of one mutant.
as for Lyr he wants to use this chance to have a connection or join SHIELD, yes he was powerful but he was only one person, in terms of individual strength he clearly not the likes of SHIELD can compare but in terms of information gathering, comparing him to SHIELD is like comparing a 3 years old toddler to that of an adult, yes he has an advantage cause he knows the plot of the movie but so what it was just a movie and movie only shows important situation not the overall situation for example the HYDRA, in the movie it says that HYDRA was huge and its heads spread through out the world, cut a head and two heads will grow but in the movie it only shows the officers and big heads of hydra not all of its members, HYDRA is more sly than the SHIELD and they even manage to sneak thier members in SHIELD so what's most important now is to join the SHIELD and strike if there was a chance.
Also joining SHIELD make life easier for him SHIELD can basically almost do anything in earth make a fake identity, make fake documents , etc and this things makes his life here easier.
seeing that Coulson did not utter a word Lyr ask "what do you think Agent Coulson?"
"what is this magic?" regaining some bit or clarity Coulson ask as he was really curious about this.
"Magic, Magic is powered by a mysterious energy we Mages called Mana, Mana is anywhere land, water, sky and even in the universe and us mages use this to energy to power our spells and what you people called Magic" Lyr explained to Coulson the basic of magic.
when Coulson heard the term Mages he couldn't help but ask " ah, so your a mage and from your words you seemingly not alone" Coulson has a from on his face when he heard Lyr's word.
Even only Lyr himself can take out an Elite squad without moving on his chair and just wave his hand, it will really be unfavorable for them if there were lots of them.
"yes " Said Lyr seemingly saw Coulson's worries "yes Im not alone there were some but they did not like showing themselves" Lyr said thinking of the mages in the Temple and Ancient one.
"huu" Coulson took a deep breath he will surely report all of this to Director Nick Fury.
"but you don't have to worry we mages are not like mutants, we also humans but a little special"Lyr said breaking Coulson's thoughts.
"what do you mean?" Coulson ask confuse.
"we mages is like a martial artist if we want to become stronger we need to train harder, not like mutants who got their power directly" Lyr said there were no need to hide this things.
"Huh, so anyone can learn this?" when Coulson heard this, his eyes lit up and ask.
"basically yes" Lyr answer Coulson"but if he/she has a physique for training magic that is" Lyr continue.
when Coulson heard the first sentence of Lyr he was excited until he heard Lyr last words his excitement died down a lot so he ask "what is the way to see if the person has the physique to learn this??"
"of course I have my ways" Lyr said in a tempting manner still keeping his smile, as he wants to have a connections to SHIELD he also have to prove his worth, his words clearly states that any people that have this physique can learn magic, he knew that his offer will greatly tempt the SHIELD, even though SHIELD is a world organization and has thousands of people, most of SHIELD personnel is an ordinary person so if they had this occuliar power it will surely greatly strengthen thier fighting force.
Coulson seems want to say something but was hesitating, a couple if seconds past he finally said
" can I try if Im qualified?" Coulson said with a firm face, he was only an ordinary person, even though he was a professional level 7 agent in the face of mutants he clearly has no power to resist and now that someone told him that he can gain power without injecting a serum with unknown side effects or without the fear of turning to a mutant this power is very tempting.
