Rapid Straits was critically acclaimed, and publicly acknowledged as the leading institution within the continent of Elheims, only second to none. Coupled together with its seemingly infinite resources, outstanding management, and its breathtaking natural sights, it was very much the dream of every aspiring magician.
Aside from its widespread fame, another reason played a major role as to why everyone deeply wished to enroll at Rapid Straits, all thanks to one man. It was rumored, one of the greatest existing magicians of this era, Sage Jerolds, was actively looking for an apprentice to inherit his mantle. And-known-to-be good friends with the Headmaster of Rapid Straits, where else would one possibly catch his attention, if not, at his good friend's prestigious academy.
Yet, Rapid Straits enrolled only the best of the best, the finest cream of the crop. It did not matter if you were a peasant, or the son of the emperor, only those proven themselves to be extremely resourceful or exceptionally gift would be chosen for enrollment. Statuses were no longer viewed as important as they once were in the mundane world. Not to say that they were entirely useless, but now, individual ability and future prospects dominated the spectrum. The unluckier ones would, unfortunately, have find another willing establishment.

Central Square, Rapid Straits, Elheims Continent.
Cycil walked down the main road of Central Square, slowly taking in the amazing scenery step-by-step.
"Rapid Straits truly lives up to its name," Cycil complimented as he took a deep breath. "Even the air is different, infused with the sweet aroma of flowers. A pity, a pity." He sighed, admiring the glorious view. Having used to frequent this path so often before, it came as a surprise how he had actually missed out on it. Luckily for him now, he could still savor the moment.
"Hey, look. Isn't that him, Cycil, the 'Power-Saver'? The elite that came in last during this mid-summer evaluation?"
"That is!" The speaker spoke with bit of awe. "I'm surprised to see him actually out and about like this.. If it was me, I don't think I would be able to show my face for a while..."
"Well, he IS an elite! Ranked fourth at that!! Out of the elite ten!"
"Uh-uh. Dan? We're not trying to pick a fight he-he-here.."
"Relax, fatty. He's..."
Cycil walked passed the fatty, and tall-skinny boy duo as if he had not heard a thing. Had it been the past, he would have had them learn their place, but ever since his return, he could hardly be bothered by the words of children. And truth to be told, it wasn't simply just these two, in-fact, the entirety of the academy was talking about! Since the evaluation ended, he had set the beginning of a new school record: Being the first and only elite to have ever come last in any assessment!
Would he fight all the students of Rapid Straits? Including the three ranked above him?! Of course not!! Another problem existed though.
"Excuse me, Cycil!!" A female student kindly stopped him in his tracks. "The headmaster said he is looking for you."
"..." [The overall situation may be worst than I have feared.] Cecil dipped his head with a polite smile, and headed off for the headmaster's office.
Enjoy! And thanks for giving it a shot!!
