[Fiare Magic Lv. 1: The Fiare Magic Affinity is granted. The ability to use Fiare Magic, which uses fire element magic, is bestowed. The level corresponds to the number and tier of Fiare Magic skills acquired.]
[Fiare Ball: Casts and shoots out balls of Fiare element Crysaztel to inflict damage.]
[Zoia Magic Lv. 1: The Zoia Magic Affinity is granted. The ability to use Zoia Magic, which uses lightning element magic, is bestowed. The level corresponds to the number and tier of Zoia Magic skills acquired.]
[Zoia Orb: Casts and shoots out orbs of Zoia element Crysaztel to inflict damage. The orbs can be manipulated at will.]
This is it…
This is what I've been waiting for…
Magic…!
Ohhhohoho… Now I can use magic…! I hope so. I hope it's activation is the same as the other skills. But still… It's my long dreamed magic… I'm moved into tears…
For the Magic Passive skills like these, it looks like I will gain one Active Magic skill per level. And the higher the level, the higher the tier of the acquired Active Magic skill!
Mufufu… I'm becoming more and more of a mage now. I'm so excited~ I just can't hide it~
As a start, ever since I started playing RPG games, I really loved Mage type Classes. A type of class that mainly uses magic to attack the enemies. They're long range fighters that supports the vanguard from the rear. I really like that kind of position. Just standing at the back and attacking, without the fear of damage. Yeah… That relaxed type of fighting.
And one of the great things about Mages is that they can sweep enemies in one fell swoop. They can use magic skills with a wide range of area effect. That's why, give them a hellish crowd of monsters to fight, they can just deal with them with one powerful area-of-effect magic skill!
Yeah. That's my goal ever since I realized that there is magic in this world. I will definitely be a mage. Even though I'm a monster. Yeah.
I will definitely be a mage. Mufufu.
And with that in mind, I focused my mind to use the skill (Zoia Orb). After the activation, it should be releasing an orb with the lightning element.
Please, work…
After waiting for a while, the click feeling that I was waiting for came and it activated. Mufufu… Here it comes, here it comes…!
… Or so I thought.
Nothing happened.
It was almost as if it's a firecracker that was lit but failed to launch. I can see myself letting out a 'poof' instead…
Alright, let me try that again… No need to panic yet. My dream to become a mage won't be hindered by something like a failed first try.
O-Okay… Focus… I imagine myself breathing in deep and breathing then out.
Once again, I felt that clicking sensation inside my mind.
… But once again, nothing happened…
What the…
I can't… become a powerful mage…?
You're kidding me…
…
..
.
I can't become a mage…
I realized it. I can't become a mage. It's impossible for the current me.
With the information that I learned from my experiences here are: the Crysaztel is the soul, the skills that use Crysaztel Gauge uses the soul, these orbs that suddenly appeared when I became able to 'recognize' Crysaztel, the ability to manipulate Crysaztel, magic skills use Crysaztel to activate…
And lastly… my Crysaztel Manipulation being zero.
The only conclusion is as long as my Crysaztel Manipulation is 0%, I won't be able to use magic. Yeah, sure I can recognize them with my senses, but if I don't have the ability to manipulate them, then it's useless.
Why did I not realize this sooner…? *sigh*
Well… Even if I did realize it, there's no way I can change this outcome. I still know near to nothing about this world.
I can't become a mage of my dreams. My fantasy world where I use magic…
It was a huge shock for me that I went wandering around the forest without any real objectives. I think I spent half a day wandering. I became a Wandering Soul once again. Ah. In this case, I'm a Wandering Poltergeist, huh? Haha…
… *sigh* My brain's a mush now, I guess.
At any rate, I can't become a mage. My dream class in an RPG. I always daydreamed that if ever I came to a world like this, I will definitely become a mage. But that dream is shattered now. *sniffle*
To vent out my frustration, I used Psychokinesis here and there and move things whenever or wherever I like it. It's not like I have anything to do anyways. Because of that, it leveled up to level 4 and before I knew it, I can now manipulate things with the size of a single truck wheel.
But if I have to use it on something larger, I will have to spend CG to be able to do so. I didn't realize that when I first tried it, that's why I failed at lifting the huge boulder. Also, I learned that I can only use it with non-living things or inanimate objects. When I tried using it to a nearby bird that looks like a mix of a crow and a peacock, it didn't work.
That peacock looking crow is also the same one as the one who attacked me when I was unconscious. It's kind of unusual to see a black crow with a colorful tail that reaches to the ground when it's seated on a branch of a tree. It's been using it to fish for prey. Hmhm. Nice.
Anyways, I've been trying to test out Psychokinesis and other applications that I can use with it.
One, I can move things. That's already given.
Two, I can adjust the speed of the manipulation. As of the moment, I can move an object at the speed of a professional baseball pitcher's throw. That's around 90 mph. Also, another good thing about it is that the weight of the object doesn't affect the speed. That's why, even if I manipulated or throw an object with the size of a baseball, I can throw an object with the size of a ten wheeler truck's wheel with the same speed. I guess air resistance here is not a factor, since it's being manipulated, not moved.
I gained a skill from trying out that one.
[Psychokinesis – Trigger: Using the Psychokinesis skill, the ability to eject tremendous force into an object and propel it into a trajectory is gained.]
I really thought it kind of resembled a gun's mechanism. With the gunpowder and the gun itself is the Psychokinesis skill.
Three and the last one, which is certainly awesome. Or so I think. I hope it succeeds. There was a case in one of the books that I've read where the character used his telekinesis as a barrier. I want to test that out.
First, I manipulate a stone and made it say a meter above me for a while.
Hmm… It's getting hard to be conscious of manipulating two or more objects, I see.
And then, I used my Psychokinesis to continuously repel everything within a thin space, including atoms, towards the stone's direction, just ten centimeters away from my body. It now creates a blanket that partly covers me.
However, there's a problem.
Needless to say, when an object is moved, the space will pull the surrounding objects to fill in the space. Just like when water is expelled inside a bottle, air will fill it out instead. Otherwise, it will create a void.
As a result, the air, light, everything is now being pulled by the repelling towards the stone. That, of course, includes me. I would only be pulled along by the continuous outward force.
To prevent that, I made another force that will manipulate or pull everything around me to maintain their position. With that, the only way that the outward force will pull in is sideways.
But because of that, the light in that thin space becomes bended because of the push and pull force inside.
But that's it. It's only a problem of visuals anyways.
I let the stone fall towards me where the blanket of distorted space is. And within my expectations, it reflected the stone. It bounced a number of times until it once again fell into the ground.
Nice, very nice. Mufufu.
I tried it once again. But this time, I made the stone travel at the maximum speed. Still, it was blocked because of the continuous push force from the distorted space.
Hmm… I think I just made my own Reflect skill. But this time, it only blocks. It's a great technique though. But on the other hand, it's quite a tedious work for it to activate
<Psychokinesis – Barrier skill acquired>
Another skill, as expected. Come to think of it… The skill names sounds like they came from a mind of a delusional, huh… The person who's naming these skills must be quite a delusional guy.
*slap!*
Wh-Wha? Another attack?
But… There's nothing around…? Also, I actually felt pain…
Weird.
[Author's Note: I'm not delusional.]
Because of these, I also noticed another thing.
Normally, I acquire skills from either evolving or consuming souls. But it seems like I can also acquire skills from executing certain tasks.
Alright, let's check this newly acquired skill.
[Psychokinesis – Barrier: Using the Psychokinesis skill, the ability to create a barrier is gained.]
Hmhm. I see, I see. Let's try doing it again.
This time, I felt the click in my mind and the skill activated instantly without that tedious step by step course.
Oho~ So that's it. Skills actually just makes things easy to execute. I see, I see. I learned a lot today. I also got to forget about how I can't use magic-
Ah…
… *sigh*
Oh well. If I can't use magic, then I just have to fully utilize Psychokinesis. At the moment, I think this is my best skill after Soul Consume, after all.
Anyways. I've tried to use Possession and tested out its uses.
[Possession: The ability to take over a creature's physical body is granted. Duration: 1 hour]
Just like how its description from my Analyze skill says, I can possess a creature within a limited time of one hour. I can do a lot with one hour, actually. But as of the moment, I don't have anything to use it for. I've only used it on the crow-peacock mix.
I also tried using it on Apparition type monsters, but I failed. It seems like Apparition types are an exception.
Well, that has to be expected. How can you possess things that should be the one doing the possessing? I'm not a demon.
Anyways. I got to enjoy the scenery while lamenting on my powerlessness as a mage. Just when I thought I forgot about it… Thinking about it, even my Magical Attack is the lowest out of all, other than the Speed and Evasion… *sigh* Am I not just cut out to be a mage?
… Oh well. Que sera, sera.
As for the place where I am at right now, even though it's quite dark and gloomy, for me it's rather relaxing than creepy. I feel at ease whenever I feel like a place is darker than usual. I guess this is an effect of being some kind of ghost and all.
Also, I tried to look at my reflection through a small pond with black waters. I look like a bluish ball of flame with the size of a soccer ball. I wonder if this is the look of a Poltergeist. I mean, what did I look when I was an Orb?
Or so I questioned myself, when I suddenly encountered an Orb. Well, when I analyzed the white glowing ball of light that suddenly passed by me, it turned out to be an Orb. I'm also glowing by the way, because of the Glow skill. I can adjust the intensity of light too. It's very convenient.
<Orb Lv. 5>
[An Apparition Type monster. It is a variant of Wandering Soul, after reaching a certain amount of time without passing on, a Wandering Soul will become an Orb. An Orb is a ball-shaped, harmless monster without a power to fight. (Intelligence Level: 2%)]

Wow… Why is it so weak? Or is this the natural course for Orbs? I guess I'm just an exceptional existence because of the skills and titles that I acquired.
Hmph. 0% C.Cognizance and C.Manipulation. Pff. Weak.
… Uhm.
… I'm not weak, okay?
Probably.
Ah, right, right. I was able to see the orb because of the Perception skill. That's why, even though it has Intangible, I could see it without any problems. Since my Perception leveled up to 3, it got a bit clearer to see. Everything is still the same with the color and blurriness, but the static is now gone.
Going back to the Orb, I noticed the Intelligence Level. When I looked at mine, it always says '100%' so I thought it's the same for everything. But when I Analyzed the Treant and, this time, this Orb, they have different levels of intelligence.
And so, I tried various things and found out, the higher the level is, the higher the capability of the monster to think rationally. The Treant seemed like it knew what it was doing with 61% intelligence level, so it must have quite a bit of rationality in it. But for the Orb that only has 2% of intelligence level, even though I used the Glow in maximum brightness and activated Trigger Fear, it doesn't react even the least. It just drifts off like nothing is happening.
It's even more irrational than a small insect. Even insects scamper away when they feel threatened.
And to think I was an Orb like that too. Hmph. I'm ashamed of you, brother.
Thus, I consumed it. Mufufu.
Oh right. Because I already have the same skills, there're are no more skills to obtain. But I'm not yet sure, since whenever I gain a skill that I already have, it says…
<*Skill* merged with *Skill*. Skill Mastery gained>
And whenever I gain a skill that levels up and it doesn't level up, it says…
<*Skill merged with *Skill*. Level Mastery gained>
But for skills that have already max leveled, it doesn't say anything and doesn't do anything.
So maybe, there's still more to it than meets the eye. I have to wait and see until something happens to learn more about it.
Thank you very much, Orb. I appreciate your sacrifice. Your death will definitely not be in vain.
I say my prayers to it and went on my way.
Whenever I encounter another Orb, I absorb it like the other one. They serve as great snack for experience points too. If you ask me how I can just do that without giving a single care, my only answer is, 'This is the survival of the fittest, my brothers.' I can't have myself stay weak forever.
I'll use them as my stepping stone, if I have to.
…

Chapter End
Meh. I guess he won't be able to use magic any soon. Tough luck, eh Mr. Ghost? Well, you have your Psychokinesis. Not a bad deal, right?
Next Chapter!
- Getting Stronger!
What path should our little ghost go to become even more stronger??
