Limei's POV
The envoy from Sertulia Kingdom just arrive in Orlandria. The nervousness and the tension can be sense within the throne room. My eight brothers to the left of the throne, my sisters and I to the right. A tall stick like man with a scroll his thin bony hands stands before Royal Father and begin reading out an invitation.
Man "May the Great King live a thousand years." He bow down with elegance and respect.
King Xing "No need for formalities."
Royal Father waves his sleeves gently to indicate to the messenger to continue with his announcement.
Man "The Emperor Wang of Sertulia extends his invitation to any two Princesses of Orlandria of His Majesty King Xing's choosing. Emperor Wang would be highly grateful if His Majesty King Xing would accept this invitation on behalf of Crown Prince Longwei's marriage to one if not both Princesses."
As soon as the stick man have read out the request Royal Father's face frown slightly as he begin to think about the proposal.
King Xing "This King will accept the invitation and as for the two Princesses to attend..." Royal Father glaze with a loving smile on his face, to his five daughters that are present in the throne room. Before grinning meaningfully "Third Rank Princess the Second Princess Xing Minyuan and..." Royal Father once again stops and look slightly conflicted.
Queen Wei Yi "Your Majesty? Is there someone else you have in mind other than Second Rank Princess, the First Princess Xing Ya Zhen?"
King Xing "Queen, this King feels very conflicted. However, I will decide after discussing this to LiLi. Come my child." Royal Father extends his hand to the me that is siliently observing the surrounding. With my eyes opened wide, I dumbfoundedly follow Royal Father as he leads us to the Lotus Garden.
---20 minutes later---
Limei "Royal Father, LiLi...doesn't know if that's possible. Royal Father knowns that LiLi is not as beautiful and talented as LiLi's other sisters. How will LiLi survive?" I sadly reply to Royal Father's request.
King Xing "LiLi. Father knows he's asking alot from my precious LiLi. You know that you are the most powerful person in this Kingdom, second only to this old man. However, once I past, my Spiritual Beasts will be yours. You're the only person Grandfather King and Father can trust to sit on the throne one day. Father beg of you to follow Father's request. Protect him. He is special and is destined to be a great ruler and unite our Kingdoms. He needs you by his side. You are destined to be his strength and alliance. You are destined to be Queen. Remember my child, Father will never let anything happen to Father's most favoured daughter. You are Father's pride, joy, happiness, sadness, pain and precious daughter. You are Father's love and heart. Anyone who doesn't know will suffer under Father's power. So what does my child say?" Royal Father reason with me while holding my head to his warm chest.
Limei "If Royal Father really insists, LiLi will do as Royal Father have requested. LiLi loves Royal Father too much to refuse." I bury my he deeper into his embrace. For a mere 16 years old girl going far from home sets a sequence of fear and suspicion in my heart. We walk back to the throne room where Royal Father seat himself back on the throne and myself to his left.
King Xing "This King have decided. The envoy will carefully and safely deliver Third Rank Princess the Second Princess Minyuan Xing and...First Rank Princess the Fifth Princess Xing Limei to Sertulia. Let this King warn you and your soldiers, if one scratch comes to harm to my LiLi, this King will not hold back his anger." Royal Father threatens the poor man who is without a doubt trembling in fear before the almighty King Xing. I look at the poor man with pity, oblivious to the glares aiming at me.
With the invitation accepted we begin to make preparations for the weeks we will travel to Sertulia. It would take 2 weeks to arrive at Sertulia Palace. Second Sister left Orlandria immediately, travelling 3 months ahead of myself. I couldn't bear to leave Royal Father and Mother as they stand beside the carriage.
Limei "Royal Father, please do not worry about LiLi. LiLi will be safe and LiLi hopes to come visit Royal Father and Mother soon." I sob as those words travel through my mouth.
King Xing "My precious girl. Father will miss you most. Stay safe and Father and Mother will wait for your return." Father King and Mother both hug me before I carefully step inside the carriage. I sit silently as the carriage begins to journey to Sertulia. I cannot describe the feelings welling up inside my heart. My personal maids Ya Ling and Shu Ting quietly comfort me. I do not wish to part but I have a mission to fulfil.
---2 weeks later---
I have just pass through the golden gates of Sertulia Palace. As soon as the carriage stops the palace maids whisk me to greet the Emperor Wang and his Empress. With Ya Ling and Shu Ting in tow.
I bow deeply in front of His Majesty Emperor Wang and Her Majesty Empress Ai Wang.
Limei "May the Emperor and Empress live a thousand years."
Feeling fear once again in my heart. What if they didn't want me here? What if I'm not who they're looking for? What if they wanted my other sisters? My breathing becomes shorter and shorter at the thoughts.
"Remember my child, Father will never let anything happen to my most favoured daughter. You are Father's pride, joy, happiness, sadness, pain and precious daughter. You are Father's love and heart."
My Father's words reminds me of my mission.
It's alright LiLi. It's alright. I chant to myself before the soft voice of the Empress breaks my concentration.
Empress Ai Wang "My, my such a beautiful, beautiful flower indeed. Such vibrant blue eyes and graceful demeanor. Don't you agree, dear?" I lower my head lower in embarrassment as the Empress laugh heartedly.
Emperor Wang "You are indeed correct my Empress. The rumours do not live up to your beauty. That old Taiolong is very lucky to have such a lovely Princess." The Emperor reply, watching me with adoration.
Empress Ai Wang "Should you not bestow her a title Your Majesty?" My body stiffen as the words left the Empress' mouth. To be bestow a title is not only a great honour, but also a guanrantee that one would be wed to someone in this Kingdom of high status.
Limei "Please pardon this Princess' rudeness, however may this Princess speak, Your Majesties?" I bashfully requests.
Emperor Wang "Of course my precious child. Speak your mind and please lift up your head." The Emperor requests as I smile.
Limei "This Princess does not think she deserves a title as of yet. This Princess comes with no achievements or accomplishments to be bestow a title. This Princess fear that others will not take it too well." I explain my fears and before I can register what have happen, the Emperor laughs.
Emperor Wang "Silly child. Your achievements have reached even my small Sertulia Kingdom. Must you be reminded of your deeds." They Emperor tease casually.
Limei "This Princess is already this embarrassed. Must His Majesty tease this Princess so?" I ask with a small blush.
Empress Ai Wang "Such a lovely smile and response. Great accomplishments and an excellent strategist in war. This Empress believes that would at least earn you a title." The Empress again laughs and my already red face burns brighter.
Emperor Wang "This Emperor also agrees with His Empress. Officials and people in this room, hear this Emperor's decree. By the power of this Emperor, I bestow First Rank Princess the Fifth Princess Limei Xing of Orlandria as First Rank Princess of Sertulia, newly name, Princess YuYu." My eyes widen, not only am I titled but also the First Rank Princess. The gasps from the Emperor's daughter is as loud as a thunder storm. None of His Majesty's daughters have been bestow the title of First Rank Princess.
Limei "This Princess thanks His Majesty and Her Majesty for the kind gestures. This Princess is also extremely grateful for the title. However, may this be kept a secret until this Princess is confident enough to live up to your praise?" I once again now deeply in gratitude. The Emperor, Empress and people in the thrones room nods with understanding.
Emperor Wang "It's only a matter of time even if this Emperor did not bestow you a title now, you would have been bestow a title soon. Go on. You must take your leave to the main garden for the Crown Prince is selecting his wives." I bow one last time before Ya Ling and Shu Ting leads me to the main garden.
Since I'm already bestowed a title I cannot escape the reality. I will be wed with a man in Sertulia. Whether I like it or not.
