Chapter 10: Into the mountains again

Sreesh opened his eyes full of excitement. He felt extremely good after his first breakthrough. His mind felt extremely invigorated. His body felt as if it full of energy. Shortly after, Sreesh noticed an odd scent. He looked down to see that his body was covered in a layer of slime, the smell of it unbearably fishy.

These were the impurities and wastes in Sreesh's body. Within a normal person's body there would be a lot of impurities that they would have accumulated throughout his life. These impurities came from the food they ate and the air they breathed. For a cultivator to absorb energy freely they needed to rid themselves of the impurities in their body. The lesser the impurities in their body, the better the foundation they would lay for future cultivation.

Sreesh hurriedly opened the windows of his room to let the bad odour out. Then he went to clean up and change into a fresh set of clothes. He decided that from now on he would not cultivate in the house until the time he rid himself of the impurities in his body and stopped stinking. This also meant that he would need to find a peaceful environment to cultivate where he would not be noticed by others. Sreesh immediately started to rack his brains trying to think of a place which could satisfy all his conditions.

After taking a shower Sreesh went to help his uncle and hi sa cousin war with dinner.

While having dinner Sreesh was quiet all the time . He was trying to figure out where he should start cultivating in order to avoid the rancid smell from spreading in the house. He wanted to protect his secret for now. Even though he wanted to tell his uncle and Bali about cultivation and it's wonderful effects he could not come up with a proper explanation for how he had learned all this. The old man in his dream had wanted him to keep the cultivation technique a secret. He was also afraid that if his secret was exposed, he and his family would have to face jealousy from a lot of people. He might be able to protect his family from a few people but that did not mean that he could guarantee his family's safety.

"Boy, you have been quiet for a while lost in your own thoughts. What's going on? What are you thinking labout?", Uncle Roran asked Sreesh.

"Uncle, I think I should go to the mountain for another hunt. Winter is almost here and we need the extra meat and the money we can get from it." Said Sreesh. He was thinking that he would at least be able to cultivate in peace without having to hide for a few days when he was in the mountains.

Uncle Roran and Bali were surprised when they heard this. To them the Dragon Tail mountains was an extremely terrifying place. They had heard a lot of rumours and conjectures about this place.

Sreesh realised what his uncle was thinking and said, "Don't worry uncle, last time I found a pasture where a tot of deer were grazing. It's not that far and I will return in a couple of days. Don't worry I'll be fine.

Finally after some persuasion Roran agreed reluctantly. He asked Sreesh to take care of himself.

Next morning Sreesh woke up and packed his bow and his necessary items. After saying goodbye he left for the mountains. As Sreesh walked away Roran muttered, "I can sense that he is somehow a little different from before."

Bali who was standing beside him heard what his father said and replied, "Yes father he has suddenly become extremely strong. I was completely shocked when I found out."

Roran's eyes glowed in a strange light when he heard this. Then he turned around and walked into the house in silence.
