Peter At A Shock!!
Bella stared blankly outside the window. She has just finished reading the last page of her mom's diary and felt that she already knew the secret.. Her father's novel.. She has to open the study now to release the last chapter of her father's novel… The bus suddenly gave an abrupt halt. Everybody got down from the bus.. It was the last stop and she was said that's where Mrs Thompson lived.. She got down from the bus and walked towards the address given by the neighbors…
Peter had woken up early. He actually did not sleep the entire night. He wished to visit Bella at her home the first thing in the morning.. As he freshened up, he got a call from his office. It was Jane. Jane was his college friend and was now working under him in his office for more than three years. They were very good friends. But recently she was acting strange. She was sticking onto him like she was glued to him, everywhere he went. He picked up the phone reluctantly.
" Peter, we have an importance news. The last few novels that we have published, it had been leaked and is being already circulated with different author's names by our rival publications... before we even released it. Our authors are really angry and are demanding the pay. All other authors who had signed are outside our building and they are demanding their copies back. You have to be here immediately. "
Peter was shocked, he had lost his balance and was feeling his world shattering.. The last few novels.. He checked the internet. The five novels.. those were the only ones that had leaked.. Who might have done it.. And he knew its consequence is going to be worse.. He may even get bankrupt running behind it. These novels.. he thought hard, he remembered it clearly, these were the five novels that he had edited in the hospital. And he had given the entire work to Bella for the editing. The only other person who read the entire edited work other than him was Bella. All the works that he had done so far had been strictly kept confidential. Only very few people does the editing in his office and they were fully responsible for it. He noticed the leaked copies were the fully edited ones and there were no one other than him or Bella who could know it before its release.
He had been thinking about it a long time before too, how she could be so good at editing. She might be an expert. She might have planned it all..
He fell on his sofa in a trance. He had loved her and trusted her, and he couldn't believe that she could cheat him so effortlessly. He rushed to her home riding at full speed. Knocking the door for a long time, finally the door opened. Bella's Aunt opened up the door looking sleepy.
" Where is Bella, I want to meet her.?"
Peter did not like this lady either.
" She is not here." She replied looking bored. It was the first time someone came to look for Bella and she was not in a mood to please him.
" Tell her to come outside or I ll pull her out."
Peter was getting even more angry.
" What is it you want..? Did she do something wrong? She is really not here. She did not mention where she was going.."
Annie was alarmed suddenly. She knew this man very well. He was very rich. If Bella had done something wrong to him, it could ruin the entire family.
" She is just an useless thing, always upto doing something wrong.. What did she do now.. I am really sorry if she have did anything to affect you."
Peter forcefully got inside the room and searched the entire home. Annie was right. There was only Dona and her surprised dad inside the house.
Annie handed over Bella's letter to Peter.
"She wrote it and kept it here and left today. We have no idea where she went.."
After reading the letter, Peter's doubt was getting more and more clear now. She had flown making him a fool. He was fuming with rage. He will find her at any cost and make her pay for it, he decided.
He went straight to his office. Jane was right. Outside his office there was huge crowd. On seeing him the entire mob started attacking him with scornful words..
" You all can take back your novels if you want.. I will cancel all your agreements. But I promise you all somebody from outside has deliberately did this to ruin our company. I may produce the evidence before you as soon as possible. I promise you all, nothing like this will ever happen again."
Peter knew all his words were a waste now.. All the people were demanding their works back and Peter returned them all. He even had to pay a huge ransom of money to those five authors by taking loans. Even workers under him started leaving one by one.. Only there were two people who still had faith in him, it was Mark and Jane. Over a night he has become poor.. But he was determined to win all his wealth and fame back. He just have to continue his writings, and that can slowly build up his company.
Jane was a beautiful girl. She had the most sought out childhood and had rich parents who made her every wish possible. She always got what she wanted and always bought her every likes at any cost.
It was in her college that she had met Peter and was instantly in love with him. But Peter did not have any eyes for girls. He was fully focused on his career and was busy at making money. They both became friends and her every attempt at winning out his heart turned out to be in vain. But she still never lose hope and joined his company in the hope that he may understand. Her dreams was to be with him, so she chose whatever career that he chose.
Everything was going on just fine until that girl entered Peter's life. Jane felt like someone had thrown dirt over her, when Peter chose a deaf and dumb poor girl over her. He saw him attracted to her, following her everywhere. Peter was really punctual on his works, and when he suddenly started taking continuous absence to office, she followed him one day. She was heartbroken when she saw Peter lying on the hospital bed with the girl she hated the most..
She became a frequent visitor at the hospital after that, to find some way to break them apart..
Then one day she saw Bella reading a few papers given by Peter. It took Jane no time in realizing that Bella was doing the edit work. Jane was shocked.. No one was allowed to share their piece of edit work with anyone.. that was the rule at Robinson Publications.. and the boss himself disobeys it..
She finally found a way.. to drift these lovebirds apart and to have him to herself..
