Chapter 17: Hedgehog café!
Shang Ying was no longer upset about that article. He was back to being in a holiday happy mood. It was their stop to alight, they reached Harajuku! It was around 10am and the hedgehog café only opened at 11am. They walked out of the station and made their way to Harajuku Street. Wen Xi and Rui Xing did some shopping for clothes for a few hours while the other 2 went window shopping. Shang Ying, being a gentleman, offered to carry the shopping bags for Wen Xi and Rui Xing. Li Nang, on the other hand, helped them choose which outfit they look better in. All the outfits that Li Nang chose the 2 of them look better in, they didn't buy them. Wen Xi and Rui Xing bought the other outfit, the ones Li Nang didn't pick. They learnt that Li Nang's fashion sense is.....to say it in a good way, it's different from theirs.
They made their way out of the last clothes shop they saw, and headed to the direction of the hedgehog café. On the way there, Rui Xing spotted a manga shop and went inside to take a look. She remembered that Rui Ning wanted her to buy back some mangas for him. As the mangas were sealed up with plastic, she couldn't look inside the books to check what language it was in. Rui Xing could only look at the back cover. She looked around the shop and found only 3 mangas that were in a language Rui Ning would understand. The rest of the books were in Japanese. She bought the 3 mangas and left the shop. They walked to the hedgehog café which was next to the manga shop. They went into the café and played with the hedgehogs! Before they went to see the hedgehogs, they bought some drinks to refresh themselves.
They had a lot of fun at the hedgehog café. They talked, finished their drinks, and played with the hedgehogs. The 4 of them stayed there for about an hour. They left before the crowd came, at around 2.30pm. The staff were really friendly and patient when they asked them questions about the hedgehogs. (I'm not sure in real life, just saying it in the story) They went to the other side of Harajuku Street and continued shopping. Rui Xing went inside this pet shop which sold only pet clothes and pet necessities. She got many goodies for Hana and Cookie! She bought 10 items for each dog! There were many varieties of dog clothes so she had fun picking them out! For Hana, she got a dog collar as Hana had been using an old one Cookie had, a leash, a harness, 4 outfits, 1 packet of snacks and 2 pairs of dog shoes. For Cookie, she got 2 snack treats that Cookie loved the last time Rui Xing brought back for her, 4 outfits, 2 pairs of dog shoes, a new leash and harness. As she picked out all these stuff for the dogs, she wondered what the dogs were doing. She really missed them a lot!
After buying most of the things they wanted from Harajuku Street, they went back to their hotel to put down all the shopping bags. Then, they walked out of the hotel and went for dinner. They went to a ramen shop near their hotel which was known for their amazingly delicious ramen, so they agreed to go there to try out the food. Was the food that tasty?
-Back at the house-
Rui Ning met up with his best friend, Shang Shen. He came over to Rui Ning's house and played with the dogs. Well, more importantly, to catch up with his best friend! They chatted about their daily lives and played some card games after having fun playing with the dogs. The dogs were so excited and playful when Shang Shen arrived at their house. Not many people visited their house so they rarely had guests. When they did, Cookie would go crazy and get really excited, she barked so loud that even if you were one block away, you could probably hear their barks. Cookie sat down on Rui Ning's lap while Hana sat on Shang Shen's as they talked. The main reason the dogs were sitting on their laps was because they wanted to be continuously patted. They were needy dogs.
Here's some of the conversation:
"Rui Ning, don't you have a younger sister?" Shang Shen asked him.
"Yeah... She's overseas with her friends," he replied.
"Oh... my younger brother's overseas too!"
"Wait wait wait... All this time you had a younger brother and I didn't know? I've known you for 10 years," he said with a shocked expression on his face.
"What's your brother's name?"
