School was not interesting as Gene thought it would be. Her teacher's name was Mrs. Tabby, and she was old. Her hair was gray, and she had interesting lines on her face that moved around as her expression changed.
"A is for apple, B is for Banana, C is for Cat," Said Mrs. Tabby as she wrote on the black board,
Gene wasn't really paying attention. So far the most interesting is Mrs. Tabby, Gene could tell she was blood but couldn't tell what exactly Mrs. Tabby was—she wasn't very good yet at identifying being—but there was magic around her so she was definitely not a werewolf.
There were sixty kids in her class, and she watched them with fascination. Some were loud and excited, and others seemed timid and shy. A few of them cried quietly for a few minutes. It was bad.
In class, there was no sign of the the devil dependent but Gene was sure she'd see her around. Aunt Selene had that look on her when they said good bye.
The teacher talked a lot, and she got bored and stopped paying attention. Her gaze wandered over to her desk and she saw power radiant from a book. It was probably a book of shadow. Gene was never allowed to touch her aunts books. The library was always lock and her parents had forbid her from ever going near the room.
Why it was a mystery to her?
Gene was strong and at the age of four she could do a basic cloaking spell. She waited ages to try more spell but Dad never really wanted her to learn more.
Maybe this afternoon she could learn more spells that will help her. After all Diana could open doors and seal beast. She even had a familiar.
