Chapter 29: 29 - Date
The events when she went out of the bathroom was quite wholesome. He bent down to kiss her on the forehead, saying, "Thank you, my love for making our home more beautiful."
She blushed with the complement and allowed him to help her change and dry her hair. They then went down together to have dinner. As they ate, they shared about their day with each other. The atmosphere was quite harmonious.
They did their nightly stroll and retired. Nothing eventful occurred. They were both thinking for the other. He thought she was tired from all the rearrangements in the house and she also thought the same for him considering that he had a series of meetings that day. They slept in each other's embrace.
In the morning, Cody asked his wife if she would go with him to the office. She decided to just follow him at lunch so she could bring him food. He left shortly after breakfast.
George busied herself in the kitchen at midmorning. She prepared several dishes and birds nest soup for him. She packed the rice balls, pickles and some stir-fried vegetables in a tiered lunch box. She also baked meatloaf and just wrapped it including the baking dish. She placed the soup in an insulated bottle and headed out to the office.
Cody was still in a meeting when she arrived so she placed the food on the coffee table. Wendy, one of the secretaries and Cody's cousin went in to chat with her. They talked about girl stuff: shopping, beauty, etc.
At lunch, it was the wife that served the husband. Cody was hesitating inside because he just want to be the one taking care of her. However, her attentiveness warmed his heart. He felt so fortunate to have such a dutiful wife.
While she was cleaning up, he went out to tell Allen to attend all meetings on his behalf. Those that required his attendance should be pushed back. Then he went to his wife who was still busy keeping the lunchbox and hugged her from behind. She paused then finished what she was doing.
"Let's go. I've taken the rest of the day off," he whispered.
"Okay! I feel like watching a movie," she responded.
"Alright, come on," he urged.
They went out hand in hand and got a ticket for a romantic flick when they got to the cinema. She leaned her head on his shoulder as they watched that Cinderella-inspired story. They were also holding each other's free hand as the other was used to hold their snacks. Every now and then, Cody would kiss the top of her head while she would also sneak kisses on his cheek.
After the movie, they went shopping and had dinner in a French restaurant to cap their date. After that day, Cody became more obvious in pursuing his wife. He would give her flowers, buy her gifts, and go on dates to spend more time with her.
She wasn't that dumb not to notice that now, her husband is more intentional in wooing her. While she has already acknowledged that she has fallen for him, she didn't tell him right away. She wanted to give him her yes with flair!
