A book about Blood

Hours later she was still reading. She had barely stopped to flip on the lamp when the light faded outside enough to blur the words.

"Lina, I knew I'd find you here. It's Wednesday, honey. I have to close at eleven thirty."

Lina's head snapped up at the sound of the librarian's voice. She didn't even hear her come up the stairs. Her words didn't really register at first, but as soon as they did she slammed her book shut and jumped up.

"It's already eleven thirty?"

"Yes, dear. I have to lock up for the night."

Lina looked at her watch. It was indeed eleven-thirty. She had got here around five, which would probably explain why her neck and back hurt from being curled up unmoving in the chair for that long. But the book was so well written.

"Wow, I really lost track of the time. Sorry. I guess I'll see you tomorrow then."

Lina stood and stretched for a moment before heading for the stairs.

"Lina?"

She turned around.

"Try to sign in before lunch, okay? You're supposed to really be here at eight, but you're pretty scary in the morning."

It was a joke.

"You're too kind," she teased and laughed. "But thank you. I really, really wasn't looking forward to getting up."

"You're welcome. Where would I be without my favorite bookworm?"

"I'm your only bookworm," she pointed out.

"But you're still my favorite. Have a good night, honey."

Lina shook her head and laughed again. Sometimes the old librarian reminded her so much of the mother she never had.

"You, too, Lina."

They parted ways and she walks ten minutes to her doom. There she stopped outside her dorm door, humming a random tune happily to herself while she dug in her bag for her keys. But life would give your good a bad. Lina froze mid-melody when she heard the giggles and muffled cries.

She knocked loudly on her door. The giggling continued, but now it was laced with low moans. Lina banged her fist against the door.

"Kat! Please! Let me in!"

The giggling faded to almost non-stop moaning and rustling. She swallowed a gag.

"FOR GOD'S SAKE, KAT! LET ME IN!"

She punctuated each word with a pound and then continued pounding with both hands, throwing in a few kicks for good measure. A few doors opened down the hallway but closed again as soon as they saw her. thanks a lot for the help, guys.

Finally, there was cursing from inside and then the door swung open. Kat stood there, her pink button down tee opened past her bra and falling off one shoulder. Her usually perfectly straight blonde hair was mussed and tangled. What a Kodak moment.

"What the hell do you want?" she said.
