Chapter 15: Adventurers Guild
"Let's do this!" Rance jump of the tree and touched the ground.
'Ground Manipulation! make a room under the ground!'
The ground vibrates and a hole near him open, the soil that is used to bury the corpses and the surviving member of the Goat tribe.
The hole beside Rance grew wider and wider until it can fit two average adult male. Ten horned people crawl out of the pit and catch their breath.
"Hah! Hah! Human, thank you!" The goatkin warrior said and kneel on his front, and look up to him with a questioning look. "Why? We are demis, and humans hate us. What are you planning?"
"Hmp, you got a good sight or sense of smell? You know that I'm a human even we are covered in the dark!" Rance said in amusement, he took out his ax and pointed it to them, "Actually, I'm not that kind. You have three choices to choose what is going to happen to your tribe.
"One, you will be working under my faction and elves, in return, you guys will leave under our protection. Two, you guys will work under us, and have revenge one day, but not under our protection. And three, go run to the wild and hide in fear of one day your race will vanish."
"We- there's only twelve of us remaining, and we are intelligent enough to think of what's good for us." He said and become silent for a moment, he looks behind him, five female warriors, and 7 male warriors. He faced look up to Rance and now again, "But if the protection you mention is permanent, can the half of us will agree with the first choice and the second half will choose the second choice."
"Erh, " Rance scratches his head, and smile bitterly, "You know, it's quite hard to decide this, but since you guys are the only surviving goatkin, I'll make an exemption. Five females two males will be going to choose 1, while the rest will choose 2."
"We- we accept it!" Said the goatkin, "I'm Kid, the captain. We offer our greatest gratitude!"
Even though they are covered with the mud of blood, even though they are full of cuts. They kneel down in front of Rance and offer their gratitude. They cry as they kneel. The tears of joy washed the dirt on their face and reveal a beautiful smile. They are like a human with horns and tails, a fur on their neck, they have normal legs but they have goat feet, they also have ears and eyes of a goat.
"Okay, but for now, we have to do something in the city. We will dig a room underneath the ground and provide you food for a week, " He stomps on the ground as he spoke, the ground shook for a bit and reveals a stair. He took out Six sacks of apples and throw it to Kid, "This is all I can offer, hide under the ground for a week."
"Thank you, sir!" Kid pick up the sacks and pass it to his kin. Five of the males took one sack each and walk down the stairs. Kid turns around and looks with a worried face, "Ain't this dangerous? What if they find out about this?"
Rance smile and pointed to trees near them, "Those trees, I made an air passage so that your kins could breathe and I also made a little pond of water inside the room. Once you're inside, we will close these stairs."
Rance smile lewdly and get near Kid, "The darkness is a great place for making babies!"
Kid's face turn red and pinches his nose, "A-actually, they can hear you even you whisper."
Rance frowns and looks behind Kid. The female goatkins were red from their head to shoulders. Rance licks his lips and observes them, they are wearing thick leather and equipped with a short sword. Even though the leather was thick, and they cover in the dirt, their body shape could be seen clearly. The shape was perfect from, their boobs aren't that big, their ass where perfect melons. "Actually, you can't do that. I still need to choose, who will be concubine!"
"W-w-what!?" Kid looks at him in astonishment, his eyes were wide open and his veins are popping from his head, "W-we are not humans, aren't you disgusted?"
"What do you mean?" Rance look at him and pointed the ax on his head, "Do you mean that I can't have them? I only ask for one and yet you are against it?!"
The female goatkins were also shocked by what he said, 'A concubine? You mean, he wants to do it with demi-humans?'
"Fumu! I want them untouched until the day I return, okay? Shit, my saliva's leaking, what a mouthwatering body!" Rance said and gaze on their private part.
Bloom pinches his waist as she whispers on his ears, "Rance, that's enough! Don't tease them anymore or else, I will cut your thing!"
"Okay, okay." He said and put a serious face, "The underground might be a good place for you, but hold your right and stop your inner demon come out, Okay?"
Kid and the females nodded their head and enter the underground. Rance sealed the hole and grow some grass on it.
After making sure that they're safe, the trio climbs up the tree and observe if there's any movement within the city.
Rance let the girls rest for the meantime, while he is making sure that their surrounding is safe. He is thinking of how can he hide Ruffa from humans. Looking at how the human of the planet treats demi-humans, he knows what will happen if they discover her.
From the tall tree, Rance made a 4 × 4 room, enough for three people to hide. "Ruffa come here."
Ruffa poured her lips and get near him, "W-why?"
"You'll be staying at this room for a week," Rance said without a warning.
Ruffa look at him with astonishment, "B-but why?"
"Why?" Rance ask as he pulls her near him, "Do you see how they treated demi-humans? What if they treat elves worse than them? Don't worry, I'll visit you every night with Bloom!"
Creakkkk!!!
All of a sudden, an ear piercing noise shocked the trio. Rance turns around to look at what is happening. The sound came from a metal cart that is being pulled with hundreds of soldiers. The wheel looks like can't support the whole cart and producing a creaking sound.
The soldier looks around carefully, checking if there are any spectators, the person in their middle looks like a very important person. He was guarded tightly, even the wind of the night could not pass the guards inspection. Rance look at Ruffa and asks, "Why do they even need to check the wind?"
"Every important person has an important role, that guy in the middle is wearing a dark red robe. It means that he is a Head of fire division of the city." She replied and step forward to observe the man, "The reason they check the wind is because of poison. Dead bodies of goatkin produce a strange poison that could make their eyes become goat eye. After getting infected the patient will slowly corrode, and when the patient dies, the poison will release again and infects more living beings. The poison only lasts for 3 hours before it dissipated, only humans can be affected by the poison."
"Strange..." Rance said before stepping back to the shadows.
Bellow them
"Your Highness Red Death, this is where the goatkins are killed!" Said a soldier wielding a three-meter spear.
"Those guys did a good job! Haha!" Exclaimed the robed person, "Who would have thought that they will clean our mess!? Well, let's go already. I don't want to be in contact with a demon poison!"
The cart went out of the city and hide into the darkness. The crazy sound it produces was like a warning for anyone who dares to get in their way.
They wait for sometime until the sound completely disappears before they jump out of the three. Whether Ruffa like it or not, she was left on top of the three and only Bloom will be able to accompany Rance.
The duo covers their head with a hood and moves in the shadows. They roam around the city to check for any strange things, and they find out a towering building with strange markings in the wall. The building's door is still open and there are armored people walking in and out of the building.
'This place looks like the guild, right?' He asks himself and stealthily enters the building. Inside the building was so loud, drunk men with blades on their waist are laughing like there's no tomorrow.
When Rance and Bloom are in front of the receptionist, the girl looks at them with fear, she steps backward and trembles, "H-how?!"
Her scream was so loud and everyone inside the room heard it when they saw what is happening, their face was filled with astonishment, 'How? How can they escape the guild's 'Perception' ?'
The room becomes tense and every warrior touched the hilt of their weapons. They are getting nervous, an enemy or not?
Rance and Bloom were wide eyes when they heard the girl scream, Rance raised his hand and give the girl a sign to calm down. "I don't know why did you scream, but I'm not a bad person. We just arrive after a long journey, can you tell us where can we stay. We don't have enough money to pay since we are out for a while. But we will pay, that's for sure!"
The crowd inside the release a sigh of relief, they don't know what might happen if someone with the ability to pass the guild's security run amok. There are only three people in the city could do that, and each person has their own name.
The guild master, 130 years old Ax wielder that fought in a countless war against demon race. The city lord, the 210 years old wizard, and the guild master's master. And the last person, the shadow, 70 years old man that wield daggers, he fought with countless demon generals and was the strongest person next to the city lord and guild master.
The female receptionist look at his face but she can't recognize him, she was scared of that he will take it as disrespecting him and bow to show her sincerest respect, apologizing for screaming earlier. She took out a golden key and offer it in her two hands. "H-here's a key sir. You can stay in the top room. The room costs 2 silver and 50 copper coins, it's up to you whether you pay for it or not."
Rance takes the key from her hands and hands over to bloom, "Of course, I will pay. We just need to rest."
They were going to step off the stairs when he saw a group of thug went down and blocked his way, "Hey! Hey! Hey! Look, a visitor! What a visitor doing outside this time!?"
Rance was a bit irritated he steps aside to avoid and let the group pass, but it looks like impossible. The thugs just won't move and blocked the stairs completely. Rance clenched his gist and spoke, "Move, we want to rest."
"Rest?!" Ask the thug, "Do you even know us? Well, we'll let you pass, but for one condition. Let us play with the beauty on your sid-"
Swish! Blag!
Before he ended what he wanted to say, he fell down to the ground, he lost one of his limbs and can't maintain his balance.
"Kaaghhh! My legs! My legs, damn it! Kill him!" He ordered his men to engage with. He took his leg and try to connect it to his knee. "Priest! Heal me!"
Two priests rash on his side and help him heal. The leg is now connected again but it left a scar. He looks up to see what is happening, to his astonishment, he saw his companions pinned down to the ground with roots.
"Wh-what happened!? Where is that bastard!" He shouted to the room, but instead of getting a good response, the crowd glare at him while holding their weapons.
"Stupid brat! Make sure you are ready for punishment!" ???
A shout was heard from the receptionist, a bearded man with scars on his face was glaring at him with intent to kill.
"G-Guild leader!" All
He ordered the crowd to arrest him and bring him to the cell. The crowd did not try to disobey him. But when they're about to remove the root bind from the thugs they're helpless.
"G-guild leader, the roots, we can't remove them." Said one of the adventures.
He approached the pinned down thugs and checked the roots. "Just what happened here? This is not an ordinary wooden magic. Sheila, come over here."
Sheila, the guild receptionist run up to him and now, "Guild master, actually two guests went in and pass the security without getting noticed. These thugs disrespected his female companion. The next moment is their leader lost a leg with-in a blink of an eye. The man waved his hands and roots grows from the cement to tie them up."
"Hmm, someone who can pass the security, a vast amount of mana, and unbreakable wood. This wood, it looks like the wood of the forest. No matter where I see it, this is not a good news for us!" The guild leader shook his head and went back to his office.
The crowd was silent for q moment staring at the wailing of the thugs that are rooted in the floor.
