Are you done" she pulled the dining chair and I eyed her angrily.
She skipped her fighting lesson today. I have been teaching her different offensive and defensive techniques since that attack happened. She used to come an hour early before her working hours and we train together. But she made me wait for an hour and I was not happy about it.
"N..No" I replied with full mouth.
"Eww, you need not to answer like that. You could nod in no" she made a face.
"I don't want to practice today" I refused to train her.
"Why?" she whined.
"I am not in mood" I ignored her.
"You could have told me that you are not in mood. I have slept a little more" she whined again.
"I don't want to talk to you" I moved away to my room.
"Hey I am sorry. I made you wait. Please this is my first mistake" She pinched her earlobes.
"Okay but I can't train you today because there is no time left for practice" I pointed to my sports watch.
"Can we talk rather than fight" I suggested.
"Whatever" she shrugged her shoulders and moved to the hall where we used to practice.
"So, when are you giving party?" I slumped into the beanbag as my stomach was full.
"What party, I am not giving any party" she refused.
"Miss Topper, I didn't know that you are such a miser" I teased her.
"I am not miser. I just spend wisely" she took seat across me.
Suddenly my phone buzzed in my pocket and I saw my mom's message "honey, I am tired. I will talk to you in morning". How could I forget the time difference and disturbed her sleep.
"Sorry mom. I called you in excitement. No worries I would tell you the good news in morning. Love you" I immediately texted.
"Ahem Ahem" Gawri cleared her throat to get my attention.
"Somebody has invited me to talk and now ignoring me over a text message" she wiggled her brows.
"Oh sorry, it was from my mom. I was so excited after the results that I skyped her after coming home but right now it is night over there. I disturbed her sleep by mistake" I felt guilty.
"It's okay. She will understand when you will tell her about your result." She smiled with an assurance.
"Hey tell me something about your mom" she has asked with a smile.
"Okay but let me show you her picture" I ran to my room and brought up my laptop. I have shown my family pictures to her.
"She is beautiful but"
"But?" I frowned at her compliment.
"Would you mind if I say something about how I felt after seeing your mom" she hesitated.
"If it is something negative about her then I would definitely mind" I replied honestly. I couldn't tolerate any negative word against my mom.
"No, No. it is nothing like that. Okay I tell you. I felt that she is not happy" she finally blurted out.
"How can you say that" I frowned.
She might not be happy after I came here but she was happy earlier when these pictures were clicked.
"Look at her eyes Alex, they are blank, devoid of any emotions. Though, she is smiling but there is no twinkle in her eyes. It feels that she is smiling for the sake of her kids. I hope I have not offended you." She explained with a hint of apology.
"No, Gawri. It's okay, you are right" It was true that my mom missed my dad a lot.
"My mom loves my father very much and my father is out of house most of the times. I think she is tired of waiting for him" I sighed.
"Can't you do something for her to make her happy" I looked at her in surprise.
"Me?" I pointed myself. How could I make her happy?
"Call your mother and tell her about your father's health condition. If she will come here then they could spend some time together and both of them will be happy" She advised.
"How are you so sure that this will make her happy?" I doubted her idea.
"Alex, I don't know about this love thing but I feel when you spend time with your loved ones then every moment makes you happy"
"Why are you doing this?" although I was impressed by her idea and intention but I was curious to know the reason from her.
"What" she was surprised.
