Tang Bingyi had been at work for the last 12 hours. The whole time, she had been in an extremely long meeting with company executives, including her grandfather who had had no choice but to come out of retirement in order to do some damage control.
When the meeting was finally over, Tang Bingyi headed over to her office. Once there she sat down in her chair and sighed before she went onto her computer.
The incident with Tang Yiling and Trailblazers had truly impacted the company, mostly considering the fact that a tape of what had happened during Trailblazers had been leaked.
Looking at the comments on the video, Tang Bingyi felt her brain hurt.
One after the other, the comments from netizens became worse and worse.
"TYL is good but her song was kind of boring... I think the other girl did better. Plus she was sooo hot."
"She was pretty! That's true. Even the guy she sang with was hot. The hotness plus how different their music was was so cool. Tang Corp should just crawl under a rock and die now. All that integrity and honour was complete bullshit!"
"I've been abroad before. So, I'm just telling you that the reason that the girl and guy pair didn't win was because they were actually copying the style of Alina the V. She's indie. I doubt most people would know her. They copied the style so much that I swear it was like they stole it. So Halo Stars should be ashamed of themselves. But yea, Tang Corp is trash for rigging a competition for their family member."
As she read the last one, Tang Bingyi felt her heartbeat. Either way, a Tang family member would have won. Thank god no one knew about Lu AnLing's heritage or else, Tang Corporation would have been ridiculed even more.
However, this was not the worst of Tang Bingyi's problems. At home, everything was a bit awkward also. Since Lu AnLing and Tang Yian were revealed to be father and daughter, neither Tang Huian or Tang Yiling had been back home. They were both living with friends, at the moment, but without them at home, the house felt a bit empty.
Everyone realized this but Elder Tang, who was a very prideful man did not ask about them or seem to worry about them but deep down he did. So he remained quiet.
The only good that had come out of this was that Tang Luoyi had become a much more relaxed person. He was even kinder. It was like the realization and acceptance of his loss had changed his whole life.
Massaging her temple, Tang Bingyi thought of what to do but for now, nothing came to mind... but she had to fix this, quickly.
As she thought this, her phone suddenly rang.
Tang Bingyi did not expect to get called today, let alone from Lu AnLing and so, when she saw the caller ID, Tang Bingyi picked it up without a thought.
"Hey," Tang Bingyi said simply.
"Hey," Lu AnLing said slightly awkwardly. She had not planned out what she was going to say beforehand and so, her mind raced to find a segue so what she truly wanted to ask wasn't abrupt. "I was just wondering how you were doing?..."
"Working. I have a lot to do..." Tang Bingyi said with a sight.
Lu AnLing: "...Are you having a hard time?"
"Hard times happen. It's not a big deal." Tang Bingyi answered simply. She had lived through hard times in the company.
"Oh... well..." Lu AnLing started. She wasn't sure what exactly to say but she wanted to allow Tang Bingyi to rely to her. "Is there anything I can help with?"
Tang Bingyi: "Don't worry about me, I'll take care of this. The only thing I need help with is what's happening at home..."
Hearing this, Lu AnLing froze. She felt a bit bad now, though she knew Tang Bingyi wasn't blaming her.
Just when Lu AnLing was going to say something else, Elder Tang had suddenly entered Tang Bingyi's office.
Seeing her grandfather, Tang Bingyi spoke.
"It's AnLing." Tang Bingyi said before the old man asked her. Tang Bingyi knew her grandfather would.
Hearing this, Elder Kang's mind raced a bit. He had seen Lu AnLing a bit, but because Tang Yian monopolized her time at the Tang Mansion, he never had the chance to speak to her so, concocting a plan in his mind the man held back a smile.
"AnLing?" Elder Tang asked. Hearing his words clearly, Tang Bingyi nodded and so, Elder Tang's face brightened, "Tell her to come over, bring the kids and Kang Jun too if possible."
***
Kang Jun had barely spoken to his grandfather since the day they had been in the Tang household. It wasn't because the man was avoiding him, but because he had too much to do.
The infinity project was about to begin and he had many things to look over and many things to approve. Kang Jun had left the company to Mr Long for too long, so now, looking at everything that needed to be done the man felt his head throb. He just wanted to quit. He wanted all of this to be over but it wasn't time yet, he had to tie up all his family relations.
By now, Lu AnLing was well on her way to doing that. Since what had happened in the Tang house, Elder Tang has been inviting her to the house. Since then, Lu AnLing had only gone a couple of times, but she planned to go many more times so that she could mend and make family relations.
Truly, Lu AnLing liked Elder Tang and so did Kang Jun, the man was nice and fair. Very unlike his grandson, but grandchildren didn't always resemble their elders.
Thinking about this, Kang Jun froze.
Grandson...
As he thought this, Kang Jun sighed. When was he going to tell his own grandfather that he wasn't his true blood-related Grandson? Instead of mentioning it in front of all the family, Kang Jun wanted to give Elder Kang the respect her deserved and tell the man the truth to his face.
Thinking about this, Kang Jun was slightly afraid, but because he was logical, he knew he would need to do it sooner rather than later.
Suddenly, the man sighed again, and just as he did this, Lu AnLing had entered his office and said,
"What's wrong darling?"
Lu AnLing closed the door behind her and then she walked over to the man before she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed his neck.
Feeling this, Kang Jun felt his body warm.
"Nothing. What about you?" Kang Jun asked.
Lu AnLing would not come to visit him at the office for no reason.
Hearing this, Lu AnLing kissed him again and smiled, "Elder Tang invited me over for dinner, and he wanted me to bring the kids, and you. Can you?"
Kang Jun shook his head, "Go without me. I have business to take care of."
Hearing this, Lu AnLing let go of his neck and then she moved his chair, turning him towards her before she took a seat in his lap.
Looking at him cutely, Lu AnLing said, "Like what?"
"Infinity Project." Kang Jun said as he wrapped his arms around her waist and laid his head on her shoulder.
Lu AnLing's long hair tickled his nose but Kang Jun ignored this sensation and focused on her sweet smell. She was so warm, and she smelled so sweet that Kang Jun lost himself in her presence. It was so comfortable that he could have fallen asleep right then.
But it was not to be. Suddenly, Lu AnLing spoke.
"Since the kids and I won't be home, you'll be alone with your grandfather. Will you... you know... tell him?" Lu AnLing asked.
Like Kang Jun, Lu AnLing had noticed that the court battle with Feng Zhengyi was not far away, and so, she knew that Kang Jun would talk to Elder Kang soon. Kang Jun still had a plan in order to make sure that they didn't need to go to court, and instead, prove that Lu AnLing and Kang Jun were biological parents of Kang Mei Xue. This could make them avoid some strife.
Noticing his wife was giving him an opportunity, Kang Jun nodded.
Kang Jun: "I will."
Hearing this, Lu AnLing kissed Kang Jun, but this time on the lips. "Good luck my love."
Hearing this, Kang Jun smiled and spoke.
"You too". He said. He then put his hand on her stomach and said, "And be careful."
Lu AnLing smiled. " I will..."
Thank you all for waiting patiently. Yesterday was a long day. My dad had to drive me to the place where my friend lives (around 2-3 hours away) the night before and then the next day her operation was around 3 hours also, and then I took care of her a bit before I got picked up (another 2-3 hour drive home!)
Long story short, it made me very tired but it was an experience.
Now, I'm back to writing!
