Chapter 7: First prey
"System, is there any way to create skill myself? For example, after training or repeating some actions many times, etc.", asked Stephen.
It was a very important question. If he can get skills without buying them from the shop or getting it as a reward for the completed task, then Stephen must take the necessary actions.

After Stephen heard explanation of system he became very excited. It was really a feasible way. He was very glad that he asked this question. Because of this, Stephen didn't waste too much time.
Next moment, he started to walk as quietly as it was possible, using shadow of trees as a cover. Stephen thought that such movements would allow him to create a skills like 'Stealth', 'Hide' or something along those lines.
In addition, he tried to listen the surrounding noises more attentively, in attempts to create something like 'Improved hearing' or 'Enhanced perception'.
After changing the method of scouting, Stephen continued explore the forest.
20 minutes later, he finally found his first prey. It was a rabbit. He stood near bushes around 40m away from Stephen. He was looking somewhere into the distance. From the look of it, rabbit still didn't noticed that someone was watching at him.
Stephen calmed down himself. It was obvious that he was nervous. It was his first hunting with a compound bow after a very long period of time.
He slightly relaxed his grip and nocked the arrow on the bowstring. Stephen took the correct stance, breathed in air and aimed at the rabbit without breathing air out. After a few seconds, he finally released the bowstring.

Arrow flew with a speed more than 90 meter per second. Almost instantly, released arrow hit the rabbit. Simultaneously Stephen heard notification.
[Ding! You have killed 1 Ordinary Rabbit. Reward: 10 exp.]
"Huu", Stephen finally relaxed and breathed out air.
Truthfully, he never thought that he will succeed on his first try. He didn't practiced archery for over 5 years now, so his skills definitely became rusty. Not to mention his 'Bad Luck Curse'. He wouldn't be surprised if his arrow suddenly flew in another direction without any valid reason.
Nevertheless, it hit the mark!
Stephen was a little excited as he walked toward already dead rabbit. There he saw the arrow protruding from the head of the dead body. It's seems that his skills are indeed little rusty, because he aimed below the neck.
Stephen pulled out the arrow and grabbing rabbit's ears he lifted it up. Then the familiar sound reached his own ears...
*growl*
Stephen heard a growl from his stomach. He felt slight hunger because from the start of all this turmoil has already passed more than 4 hours.
So it's time to dine.
That's why for now, Stephen stopped scouting to cook his first prey.
