Early morning I woke, normally earlier than my rising time. I was absolutely unable to sleep. I was time and again haunted by the hallucination. Thimphu City was flickering with street lights yet. Dogs were barking like usual. The early dim light of the Sun crawled from the hill.
The dawn felt serene with gentle breeze that brushed my hairs towards west. The softest touch invigorated my sensation. I was too mad! I have never even marvelled that she would finish herself just because I didn't accept her. But it's not my fault nor her. It's the illusion! Fate is really cruel.
I watched the Golden diary that she has dedicated to me, meticulously and mindfully. It really looked awesome, glistening with the early shafts.
"I am really sorry Wangmo! I couldn't fulfil your wants. Forgive me if you can." I confessed looking at the diary, my eyes were already brimmed with tears.
I then slowly went to my cell without known by my sister. I went to the bathroom and took quick shower and then dressing myself in my favourite Buray robe, called Lhasang. The ring kept on going but there was no response from the other side. I was frustrated.
I again called, now almost loosing my hopes. Luckily, she responded.
"Hello! Why so early?" She replied still yawning.
"Didn't you wake up?" I asked, cooled down.
"Nope! Why?" She sounded startled.
"I have some urgent work."
"What? What urgent work? That also too early?" She replied
"Yeah! Didn't you know today is Chhey Chenga?" I asked.
"Then what?" She inquired, quite interested.
"Let's go to Zangdopelri Lhakhang." I requested.
"But why?"
"To pray for our wellbeing." I lied though emotionally I was deeply lamented.
"OK then. I would do!" She replied quickly. She might be happy for we're praying for each other. But I was just the opposite.
We went to the shrine with some necessities like butter, candle, etc. We prayed, though I was praying for Wangmo's smooth way to heaven. "
Please, Wangmo. Stay safe!" I heard myself pray mindfully.
When I opened my eyes, Lhasang was staring at me with her eyes looking at me longingly.
"What did you pray?" I asked her breaking the silence.
"I wished for someone's success!" She replied, her face glistening with brightness.
"What did you pray?" She asked inquisitively. It was her turn to ask.
"I prayed for my own wellbeing. " I again lied though it was auspicious day where lying is also the biggest sin. But I did knowingly.
Her faced dimmed and she was silent. She never spoke or asked anything until we waved each other when she reached her dwelling. She might have expected me to say the same!
"Good-bye!" I waved and she too did. We went to our own dwellings.
