Denear fell onto his bed, covering himself with his blanket. "Goodnight" Chandler said as he tucked himself into his bed and blew out the candles.
The room was dark and Denear was recalling what happened in the afternoon.
.....
"How would you know I'm a nice guy?" Denear said.
"Oh I can just tell..."
"Not really a good answer but who cares because I am not a bad guy in the least." Denear told her in a lifeless manner.
The dark purple haired girl giggled. "Heh...That's what most bad guys say."
"Well I'm not." Denear denied. Denear looked towards the small island in the center of the lake. "Awesome secret place."
"It's not really a secret...But I guess people don't know about it." She winked at Denear with her finger on her lips. "And promise you also won't tell anyone..."
"I promise then."
The girl walked towards the edge of the water and lightly touched the lake. In an instant, a bridge of ice formed towards the island.
"I'm impressed." Denear put plainly. "You have the skill [Control Magic] and [Elemental Possession: Ice]."
"How did you know?" The girl asked, also impressed.
"I have my means." She and Denear walked through the bridge towards tiny island. Denear touched the tree and closed his eyes. He let his senses run wild. His hearing, his touch, his smell....he released them to certain limit. He made a deep breath. The air was just so amazingly clean and left a fresh feeling after inhaling it.
Denear smiled. "The air around here is so fresh."
"You know! People don't really like spending time alone outside to just breath and relax." She sat on the green grass by the water and slowly moved her feet in the water. "The water is really cool. Not too hot or cold. Just perfect."
Denear sat down, leaning on the tree. He closed his eyes and sighed. 'This tree feels so warm....'
Suddenly, Denear felt drops of cold water on his face. He opened his eyes but more splashes of water flew towards him. He used his hand to block his eyes. "Hey! Not funny."
She snickered a little bit. "But oh, it is."
She stopped splashing water onto him. Denear wriggled his head side to side for the water to dry up faster.
"Heh Heh...No offence or anything, but you look exactly like my dog when he's trying to dry himself up.....But you're missing something...hmmmm..."
Denear rolled his eyes like a teenage girl going through their rebellion stage and said convincingly. "Woof Woof"
"Yeah exactly! Oh man, I was joking before but now you really do look and sound like my dog." She said teasingly.
"Ha..Ha... very funny.."Denear said sarcastically as he stood up and walked towards the ice bridge. "Well i'm heading out, it's getting dark and it's not safe for you to be here in the forest. It's very dangerous."
"I'll head back later." She replied. "I can only act carefree around here."
"Oh okay....Have a nice night." Denear headed back to the dorms just in time for a nice delicious meal from none other than the lovely old Mrs.Cook. Cooking for everyone in the entire dorm was already an achievement itself, especially in that old age.
'I like old ladies. They are just so loving.' Denear thought as he sat down with Chandler and Bailey sitting next to him.
People payed careful attention to him. They avoided him and his group as much as possible. No one wanted a part 2 replay of what happened in the cafeteria except they will be in Prince Landon''s place.
News spread around school that Rowan Dixon, a noble, was taken down by a commoner. To top it all off, it was a girl! Such news can't be hidden when there were a bunch of witnesses in the cafeteria. It made him seem like a bigger idiot when students found out who their group were arguing with. Denear Lorenzo Cornelius, the only heir and son of the mighty Cornelius family, fought with the esteemed second son of the South Kingdom of Cesea.
However, the biggest shock to the school was that Denear, a noble, was friends with commoners.
...
Denear closed his eyes in bed and gripped his chest.
'Who was she?'
Denear went out of the covers and put his hand on his fore-head and sighed.
"I don't know any more...."
