Call and Response

In the wake of his grandfather's funeral, Allen Li resolves to cultivate the gift that his grandfather had bestowed upon him-- a lifelong love for music. The path forward is unclear, but he starts by auditioning for his high school's jazz band at the start of freshman year.

Encounters with eclectic, demanding mentors and an old acquaintance brings him to the inevitable realization that passion and love for the craft is simply not enough. For if one wishes to achieve something of value, the must sacrifice things of value.

He will find that knocking on the door of the great unknown before putting your own monsters to rest will leave you surrounded by demons on all sides.
