Chapter 17: I sell lemonade!
One evening when the road was using by the boys to play street soccer, there were many teenagers from next neighbourhood came to play and competing with them.
Certain road was closed for the tournament. They use alternative road to go around. The Head of the neighbour supported the event and some of the guards helped to control the traffics. The tournament was right in-front of Teddy's and Dingxiang's house.
Dingxiang joined the tournament with Tang Wei and James to represent their neighbourhood. The yard was crowded with the players. As usual, Kiara with her business minded started selling her iced lemonade and cookies. The other girls also selling some fruits and drinks next to her table.
Her stall always running out of lemonade and she quickly refilled her jugs with the lemonade. It was her third jugs of lemonade. Not long after that her lemonade completely finished but the clients were still there to buy her lemonade. She was totally out of resources.
Suddenly she remembered of a house which was full with lemon tree. She went to a house not far from her house. No signed of people was inside. She knocked the door many times but there was no response.
She looked at the right side of the house. There were five trees of lemon full with the lemons! She was impatient to wait for the owner. She then put some money under the door and she started collecting some lemons. It was big and fresh. She was happy to pluck the lemon. She plucked the lemon and at the same time she brushed off her curly hair to the side of her ears.
Without she realized it, there was a young man was watching her plucking the lemons from inside of the house. That man was folding his hands to his chest while leaning to the sink.
Not long after a SUV car approached the yard. An 50 years man got out from the SUV. When he saw a child at his lemon tree he approached the girl right away.
"Hello Mr Ota!" Greeted Kiara to him.
"How did you know my name?" Asked Mr Ota feeling impressed with the girl before him.
"I saw your name at the gate." She pointed to the gate.
~Ota's Resident~
"I hope you don't mind I pluck some of the lemon here, would you?"
Kiara stood just right in-front of him.
"I won't mind, but this act would put you to trouble." Mr Ota tried to teach her the basic lesson.
Kiara just looked at him with her puppy eyes.
"She was with me. She even gave me some money for the lemon." Suddenly a young man came out from the house. He showed a note to his father.
"Ohhh... You should tell me earlier girl. I'm sorry to make you feel bad." Mr Ota apologized to her immediately.
Kiara looked at the young man and then she collected the plastic which almost full with lemon.
"Where are you going?" Asked the young man to her.
"I have enough the lemon." Said Kiara
"No you don't. At least another two plastics then it will enough with the money you have given here."
"Really?" Kiara started to smile and brushed off her hair to the other side.
"Yeah." He had another plastic to Kiara.
"What is your name?"
"Kiara." She continued to pluck some big lemons.
"Nice name."
"What yours?"
"Me?"
"Yeah , your name ."
"Just call me Mason."
"Mazen?"
"Ma, Son,"
"Maason".
Mason was scoffing when he looked at Kiara tried to pronounce his name.
"What are you doing with all these lemons?"
"I sell lemonade."
"Really?"
"They are many people there."
"Really?"
"They got tournament over there." Kiara pointed her house 5 blocks away.
"Yup, I see many people there."
"I think my lemon is enough." Said Kiara after she weighing two plastic in her hands.
"Let me help you. I want to see the tournament."
"Alright."
