Chapter 177: Delivery

"Well, we better get going soon. We still have things to do so we won't disturb mother-in-law." After a while of chatting, Shen Tianyu got up and curtsied to the Empress.

"Then go do what you need to, I won't keep you." The Empress smiled and let them go. Rong Jian, who had been quite the whole time, silently followed his wife out with slouched shoulders. Seeing this, the Empress's smile widened but didn't say anything as she watched them go.

The couple arrived back at the Zhu estate when the sun was almost at it's zenith, about the time for the midday meal. On the way back, neither talked to the other, making the atmosphere extremely awkward for the servants that followed along. Weren't they fine before they met the Empress, how come they came out with one being angry at the other?
