Chapter 4: Poor Girl wants to be Alive
Rose walked tensely on lobby hospital. She had hat with a veil, and wore sunglasses for extra precaution. Clutching her wallet strap, she determined herself again for the xx times.
" I don't want to die. I don't want to die. Yes! Anyway this is just a drop of water to the wealthy noble. Not steal... I just lend. Yes, lend."
"Is there something I can help you with, Miss?"
"Ah, yes. I want to pay for the patient, Rosalia Anetja." She answered nervously.
"Are you a relative? Do you have the patient card?"
"No... I... she is my friend. I am not someone suspicious. Look, you can check my student ID." She hurriedly picked an ID and put it on marble table.
"Miss Roland? I'm sorry, that's not what I mean. I just needed the patient number. Uhm… let me search, do you know the guardian's name?"
"Sofia Anetja, her mom."
"Okay, I found it. Rosalia Anetja, patient on traffic accident."
Rose almost popped her eyes out to see a row of zeros on the payment script. The black card Peo's dad gave her felt heavy. She didn't care anymore. With that amount of burden, if she's not dead then her family would dead first.
"I... maybe won't have time to come often. Can you call me if something happened?"
"You must be a close friends. Okay, just leave your number. Hm, Mrs. Anetja isn't here at the moment because of work, but the patient's grandmother is. Do you wish to see her? Patient Rosalia was out of ICU this morning. Her room is on the 8th floor. Room number 7. Wait a minute, I'll bring the guest card for you."
Rose didn't know how she dragged her feet to 8th floor. She missed her grandma, but also afraid to see her. When she saw nobody's in the room, there was a relief, and also a loss.
"I am not giving up yet, so don't die on me." There was a tint pain, suffocating her. To see your own self not less than a broken lifeless doll, even must breathed with a machine, was so damn frustrating.
Rose went out before her grandmother's back.
That afternoon, Peo's mom brought Rose back to Ruilan. Peo's dad was needed at company, so he went first in the morning. Rose didn't want to talk much and blow her cover up, so she just slept.
There were many things on her mind. Like how she could find Peo's soul. If Peo's back, logically, her body would recognize it's owner and reject the foreign soul. She just had to hang on until Peo's back.
'It's nice being rich, have a prince as fiancé, and I got in a royal school for free. Didn't you dream to be an actress, Rose? If you can pretend to be a noble, then what else you can't do?'
Rose breathed deeply, calmly. She resolved herself.
'Yes. Let's pretend I am Cinderella. Just enjoy the ball, until clock sounding my time is up.'
'Ruilan island, here I come...'
