Chapter 108: Goku Gets Married
"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing. Just lift the pan. Hurry!" Kalan frowned.
"This! Fine, but you have to jump out if you can't hold on." Annin reminded, since Kalan held King Enma's personal medallion, she couldn't actually refuse his commands.
Annin turned into a giant and lifted up the pan above the furnace. Seeing this, Kalan hurriedly created a Ki Barrier worth 10,000 battle power and jumped in.
"Ouch!" Kalan's Ki barrier was immediately melted down, burning his body, even his clothes were quickly turned to dust. He hurriedly jumped out.
"I told you the furnace is too hot." Annin blushed seeing the named Kalan and hurriedly turned her head away.
"Kyaaa!" Chi Chi blushed and covered her eyes.
"It's actually so hot!" Goku exclaimed in shock, it was the first time he saw Kalan get hurt by the flames, even his clothes weren't spared.
"I didn't expect the flames to be so hot, I wasn't prepared earlier." Kalan said, he had been to confident in his weak Ki barrier and had suffered because of this, he quickly materialized a new set of dougi and jumped in the flames again. This time the Ki barrier was made of 100,000 battle power worth of Ki.
"Shit how come these flames are so hot!" Kalan complained as he saw his Ki barrier slowly melt down, he hurriedly increased the output to 500,000 battle power and the Ki barrier stabilized. He didn't expect there to be something so powerful on Earth.
The bottom of the furnace were covered in octagonal plates, there was one plate missing, Kalan had the system analyze the materials made by the furnance plates and materialized it on the hole, quickly patching it.
Finished, he quickly flew out of the furnance.
"Well, no wonder Annin said the flames would kill her. It could slowly burn through 100,000 battle power, even Enma only has a battle power over 1,000." Kalan shook his head.
"Alright, I've patched the hole, there was a plate missing at the bottom." Kalan said.
"Amazing! As expected of the holder of King Enma-sama's personal medallion!" Annin praised, she now believed King Enma was equally strong if not stronger that Kalan and would also have no trouble surviving those flames in the furnance.
"Kalan, everything's done, right?" Goku asked.
"Yep, no worries. Ox King's castle should be fine now." Kalan reassured.
"Thank you, Kalan!" Chi Chi gratefully thanked Kalan.
"What was that medallion? How could that Annin turn so polite after seeing it?" Goku was curious about the medallion.
"Oh, something I borrowed from a friend." Kalan said vaguely.
The trio left and went to Ox King's castle and were relived upon seeing the flames gone with their own eyes. The Ox King furiously thanked Kalan for his help once again.
Ox King began preparing the wedding while Goku went to fetch his grandpa. Chi Chi began writing invitation letters to all their friends.
Everyone celebrated Goku's wedding, both Goku and Kalan had their best meals of their life on the wedding banquet. Goku accidentally slipped his tongue and said that the meals was more enjoyable and would like to have another wedding if possible. His words ended up with him receiving a big slap from Chi Chi while everyone laughed at the couple.
After the wedding, the couple decided to build a house next to Grandpa Gohan's house and live there. Ox King had no opposition as his daughter was getting married out from her family, living with her husband was normal as such he did not make them live in his castle.
To be honest, the Saiyans don't even celebrate, they don't get married either, so bringing Gine and Bardock was useless. In fact, Kalan was more interested to see how the Saiyan Saga would go, so it was better to hide their Saiyan background for now. Both Piccolo and Goku were a lot stronger than in the story, maybe in due time, they would kick Raditz ass instead.
"It's been a long time since I went to check on my planet..." The wedding reminded Kalan of his family, so he decided to take a trip back to Planet Carefree. He had originally intended to go back once he had learned how to control his Legendary Super Saiyan transformation, which he had recently mastered. Now he had the experience required to help Broly control his Legendary Super Saiyan transformation.
Kalan let his friends know before he left for Planet Carefree. Which was really good, as otherwise they would always turn over the whole Earth without being able to find him and instead turn worried.
"Hey! Long time no see!" Kalan teleported to Planet Carefree and saw Bardock in the training camp.
"Kalan! You bastard! It's been so long!" Bardock clapped Kalan's back happily. For Saiyans, being away for several years was normal, as sometimes just the travel time back and forth will take years, and counting in some hard missions, their mission could take several years. For the Saiyan traveling, they would just be put to sleep and not feel the lengthy journey at all. But of course that was in the past, now the Saiyans no longer went around destroying the inhabitants and sold the planet for Frieza.
Kalan chatted a bit with Bardock and they agreed to have a spar later on. Bardock had made great accomplishment in his martial arts, his personality had turned gentler after meeting the Plants in the past. Now after managing the training camp for several years, he was much more patient, he had also fortified his foundation greatly thanks to the training camp. By teaching others, he had increased his understanding of the basics by several times. Due to all these reasons, his battle power had skyrocketed since they last met. As such, both were eager to spar and see just how much progress each of them had made.
Kalan went to find his other friends and family.
"Kalan!" The first one Kalan went to find was naturally his mother, Anya.
"Mom!" Kalan hugged Anya.
As expected of Saiyans, they didn't mind long reunions, for them not seeing each other for a few year was totally normal.
"Big Brother!" Broly ran up to Kalan and hugged him, he was as sentimental as always.
"Broly!" Kalan smiled and hugged back.
The two chatted a bit, Broly had been obedient and not tried to transform into a Super Saiyan ever since many years ago, when Kalan had went to look for him and asked him so.
Kalan promised Broly to help him with transforming into a Super Saiyan later. He first went to greet his other friends and family members. He met grandpa Rako, Cabbage, Orion, Vivian, Igara and Gine.
Orion was doing well, he was the first in command and Bardock was 2nd in command. With the help of Igara and the rest of the Ingeniumians, Planet Carefree was flourishing greatly. The population had increased from 10,000 to over 100,000. Though most of them had no clue of Kalan as he was never there. But Kalan didn't really care anymore. He had originally only brought the Saiyans away as he felt obligated due to himself being a Saiyan and for his family's sake.
Vivian's eyes were practically glued to Kalan's face, she hadn't been so shy in the past, but now she didn't dare to utter a word and just shyly stared quietly at Kalan. The atmosphere turned awkward so Kalan hurriedly escaped.
But what amazed Kalan was that the new generation of Saiyans weren't as violent, due to the different environment, the Saiyans were more peaceful, although they liked battles, they weren't bloodthirsty like the old generations of Saiyans. The martial arts had made them focus more on battles than killing. This gladdened Kalan greatly as he wanted to try out the Super Saiyan God ritual in the future. Now he just needed to wait a few years and see if he could find 5 righteous Saiyans, he was sure of Bardock and Gine already, so he just needed another 3 Saiyans. Although Rako, Anya and Cabbage seems quite peaceful, they were after all from noble families, although these classes were long gone after they immigrated the Saiyans to Planet Carefree. They were all quite bloodthirsty and had slaughtered a path for their noble families' prominence. Bardock had only changed due to his meeting with the Plants, it wasn't easy to change the mindsets of an adult Saiyan after all.
