After reading up to chapter thirteen, I feel that right now would be a good time to review it. The writing quality is great and better than many novels out there; however, few grammar mistakes are spotted throughout the chapters, but it doesn't get in the way of reading. Seeing that you are a new author, you have a good chance to grow as you write this novel. I enjoyed how you introduced your characters at the start of the novel. The romance could be slower though. However, I can see the chance to build upon the relationship as the MC and his lover continue to overcome trials together. Another thing I enjoyed was the characters' emotions during some of the fight scenes. It shows the protagonists isn't some macho badass, but he also feels fear when going up against these monsters. The story development has a nice pace - not too fast or slow. I'm excited how this story will end up. So far, the whole setting revolves around the town. Chapter 13 expanded on the setting quite a bit about the protagonist's countries and its leaders. Hopefully, you will expand upon the world-building in the future. 5/5 for update stability, but I wish chapters were longer though. :)
It's rare to find a good novel like this one, one of my top five. I hope you continue writing it. At least one chapter per week pls. Good Luck! =-)
