Chapter 9: Humanity doesn't exist

Asgard was a town of humans that's now occupied by demi-humans such as lizard-men and other antrophomorphic animals after humans have long extinct.
According to legends, Only humans posses such a power that can nullify magic. Humans are great at physical and demi-humans are great at magical and so, out of jealousy and obsession of power, Other countries began hunting them, disecting them, using them as a guinea pig and cutting their bodies into pieces to examine how does they got their power.
It was a war between humans and demi-humans—The hundred years war.
After hundreds of years have passed. Because hundred-millions of demi-humans have come to hunt humans. From millions of humans, human population has gradually decrease to hundreds until a ceast and desist order was ordered by the nation after they couldn't find any human beings again.
The last of them locked inside the cage were transferred to a house having an equipment they need for their daily life and letting them live a normal life only to find them at sunrise hanging in the ceiling—They suicide.
The countries which have heard the news feeled sorrow and reget for what they have done.
It seems to me that it's not that their life is what they want to end, it's the endless agony that they want to, but because they can't forget the moments how demi-humans treated them as a guinea pig, they finally decided at some point to kill themself—to free from the chain demi-humans pinioned.
Poor humans.
Legends doesn't state how does their face looks nor their appearance. Rumors says they are just like us having a tail, or an elf ear or they probably are smaller than us but the effective thing to knowing them is they can't use any magic but can only nullify it.
Millions of humans were slaughtered, in the end, No one knows how does they got their power.
They are really the unluckiest beings in this world.
But that's just what the legend says meaning that humans probably only exist in legends. No one knows if they did really get extinct or not and just hiding somewhere in this world.
After thousands of years trying to look for them with no avail, it is a clear thing that they really cease from this world.
I wonder if someday I could meet one of them.
Humanity has declined.
