Chapter 28: Lucky Candy
Om hurriedly clicked on the [Lucky Spin] option. He then converted [600,000] points for [3 Lucky Spins]. After doing all this, Om went to the screen where the rotating wheel was. Now, there was only one thing left to do and that was spinning the wheel.
Now, Om had completely turned towards the Life-changing System. There was no turning back now. At this moment, the fates of many people were on the line. His, Saksham's, his sister's, and the old couple's. Om believed that if something happens, then it happens for the good. So, what happens next will be good, right?
When Om was about to click on the [Spin], he immediately stopped his hands. He hurriedly got out of the washroom and ran straight towards the large statue of Lord Ganesha that was near the reception. He went in front of the statue and joined his palms in front of his chest and closed his eyes. He silently prayed to Lord Ganesha with all his heart. He prayed that whatever he gets from the system may help him wake Saksham up from his 'sleep'.
"Although it sounds impossible to come true, but I know if you help me, this impossible thing might become possible. So please, just this once, help me! Help me to get out of this plight! Please!"
After a few moments, Om opened his eyes and kneeled in front of the statue for a few seconds. Then, he stood up and hurriedly went back to the washroom. The people who were there saw this and then went back to their own work. Obviously, this was a common sight.
When Om locked the door and once again sat on the toilet, he opened the system and then opened the [Lucky Spin] screen. Now, once again, the spinning wheel was right in front of Om. What happens next and what he gets will all be on his luck. Om swallowed hard and then lifted his sweaty and cold hand and pressed the [Spin] button.
The wheel started to spin slowly at first, but then it spun faster and faster. Right now, Om was praying in his heart silently. 'Please, let me get something which is actually good for me! Please! Come Out! Come Out!!!'
Soon, the wheel started to slow down. Om closed his eyes and silently waited for the wheel to stop. Not long after, Om heard a *ding* which indicated that the wheel had stopped. Now, all he had to do was open his eyes and look at the reward from the [Lucky Spin].
His throat moved a bit but no sound came. Om clenched his fists and breathed heavily. The wheel had stopped at the [One Time Consumable Items] area and what he had gotten was.…. A Lucky Candy.
A separate window had popped up and an image of candy could be seen in the middle. Its description read,
(Primary)Lucky Candy: Increases the luck of the host by 3 times for 30 minutes. In the duration of 30 minutes, the host will be unbelievable lucky and many lucky occurrences will happen around him. After eating one, the host cannot take another one for 30 days.
Reading this, Om was very, very disappointed. This Lucky Candy couldn't save Saksham in any way. So, this was another waste of points, huh? Om thought dejectedly.
'Only if….the luck was on my side, I could've gotten something better. But, no! I've wasted my whole 200,000 [Popularity Value] for this sh*tty candy which seems to increase my luck. F*CK! F*C-' Om suddenly paused.
His brain short-circuited for a bit and then the power once again came back after a moment. He suddenly turned his face to look closely at the virtual screen to see if what he just read was true.
After double-checking, Om suddenly stood up and jumped with a clenched fist in the air. He wanted to scream loudly and cheer but that would attract the attention of the people so, Om refrained from doing it. Instead, he just silently celebrated.
He closed the window and then hurriedly went to the [Inventory] and found the Lucky Candy silently lying in one corner. Om touched it and then retrieved it.
Suddenly, Om felt that there was something small and soft in his hands. He looked down a little and found that there was a small candy wrapped up in a paper like covering that felt as smooth as silk if touched.
After pondering for a bit about what the covering was made of, Om opened the covering and found a golden, round and shiny candy quietly lying down in his palms. He observed it carefully and found that it was perfectly round candy.
He didn't know why but when he listened closely, he heard something and that sound seemed to come from the candy itself. The sound was very melodious, heartwarming, luring, and ….sacred. It was as if angels were singing. This sound gave Om a feeling that this was no ordinary pill. Instead, it was a heavenly artifact. Soon, the singing of the angels got louder and louder as it lured Om to eat it.
So, he immediately swallowed the candy without hesitation. After swallowing the candy, he felt an indescribable joy, calmness, warmth… and a feeling of holiness. The sounds inside his heads had reached a whole new level as he swallowed the candy but that sound didn't hurt his head or something. Instead, it was as if it was working like a catalyst and helping Om to dissolve the effects of the Lucky Candy.
So, Om closed his eyes and enjoyed this moment of warmth and happiness. But due to closing his eyes, he didn't realize at this moment a golden pillar of light suddenly shot out from his head. The light disregarded all the walls and shot straight to the sky where suddenly, the void cracked a little. Soon, the golden pillar of light reached the place where the crack was and hit that crack with an indescribable amount of force and broke through it. Now, there was officially a crack in the sky.
After breaking open the void, the golden pillar of light entered the void and disappeared. Unfortunately, it seemed that no one could see any of this. No one could witness such a shocking sight.
But this wasn't over yet it seemed. Soon, there were many golden motes of light that came down slowly from that hole in the sky. These motes traveled downwards the pillar and slowly started to enter Om's body one by one. As they touched Om's body, the part where it touched would glow with a warm and fuzzy golden light. It was as if Om was about to achieve the godhood. Then, more and more golden motes of light came down and entered Om's body, making it glow even more brightly.
Now, if you looked a little carefully over Om's head, you would find an illusory halo forming. Although it was forming bit by bit, but even after a long time, it remained illusory with no signs of it becoming corporeal. It was as if you touched it gently, the halo would disappear.
But this too, no one was able to witness any of this. Soon, the motes of light stopped coming from the hole in the sky and slowly that hole once again started to regenerate back to its original appearance. After the whole crack was fixed, the golden pillar of light was cut off from the middle as it once again started to go back down.
As soon as reached Om's head, the light pillar disappeared. What remained was the illusory halo and the faint singing sounds in Om's head. As Om opened his eyes, he felt never before experienced comfort. All the stress, anxiousness, sadness, grief, guilt, regret, and various other kinds of emotions vanished completely.
Now, all he could feel was the holiness and the calmness it brought. Om calmly looked at the virtual screen and then went back to the [Lucky Spin] screen. Once again, a spinning wheel appeared on the screen. But this time, there was no nervousness and hesitation in Om's mind as he clicked on the [Spin].
The wheel started spinning and soon, it took up pace and started moving faster and faster until it reached the peak of its speed and then started to slow down. This time Om didn't close his eyes as he unconsciously believed that whatever came this time would help Saksham.
As it slowed down, Om could barely calculate where it was going to stop. When the wheel stopped, Om heard a *ding*. When he saw where it had stopped, Om knew his calculations were correct.
The wheel had stopped at … [Special] area. This was an all-new area for Om. He had not got any reward from this area till now. So, when a new window popped-up displaying the reward he had gotten this time, Om was filled with anticipation.
But, as soon as Om saw what he got from the special area, his eyes widened to an unprecedented level as his mouth went wide. And as he read the description of the reward, Om sucked in coldly as he felt the hair on his back standing erectly. He felt that his eyes were about to pop out of its sockets and his teeth were also clattering unknowingly. He couldn't understand, how could this thing be given as a reward?
