Chapter 45: Cowardice is a great sin!
Blood is dripping from Sorcha's mouth. She has been fighting with her pursuers for a while now. One teenager versus five grown up men, and yet the five still haven't caught her. A bizzare sight to behold.
"Ptooey" she spits out some blood. The metallic taste in her mouth makes her really uncomfortable.
Sorcha lifted her right leg to kick one of the guys arm that tries to hold her.
'As if I'm that easy to catch!" She ridiculed in her mind. Though she knows that escaping from them is not easy as well.
She took out one of the knives in her body, and lowered her stance. She's like a tiger, preparing to launch her attack. Waiting for the prey to approach her, and kill it at once.
"Just stop resisting. I told you, we won't hurt you if you just cooperate." One of the guys said.
'And what? Let myself be caught and be used as a bargaining chip against my father?' she answered in her mind.
She will definitely not let these people capture her. She swears, no one can use her to harm her family. They'll have to walk over her dead body before they can hurt them!
"Then don't blame us for taking the hard way." The guy warned after not getting his desired answer from her. He then took the gun that was tucked in his waist. With an experienced hand, he raised it and pointed at her.
"This is your last chance to consider. My patience isn't as long as you think." He said with a serious tone. They never thought it would be this hard to capture a little girl. Thinking about the fact that they've already spent so much time just to catch a child mad them feel ashamed deep inside. Who knows that a kid could make their job very difficult?
Cold sweat started falling in Sorcha's back. Guns, these things never existed in her previous world. After living for fourteen years here, she came to know how dangerous they are. A single bullet could kill her. She suddenly felt uncertainty and fear inside. But she quickly removed them just before it start to plant a seed of doubt in her heart.
Cowardice is a great sin for a knight! She exclaimed in her mind, making her clear-headed once again. She will never back out in a fight, not unless it is pointless. Right now, she's fighting for herself and for her father's safety. If she give up, it is like giving up her own life.
