I stared at my status in awe.

That was my new stats. The upgrade happened when I finally gave my salt on what was an epic destructive path Eboy was trying to set her daughter on. Both Scathach and Ebony of looked at me in shock before resigning and telling me that they would talk about this development tomorrow. To much crap already happened today.

Scathach got the Van out and parked its in Ebony's courtyard. Admittedly I want to sleep glowing like a human light bulb. Let say that, unlike the knock-out girls who wouldn't budge for twelve straight hours, I did not get enough sleep.

In fact, I was still glowing this morning blowing away my attempt at keeping my advancement secret.

"What the hell!" Cy said looking at me and slammed the porridge down on the table. "That glow is your phenomenon isn't it."

Ebony had a nice kitchen. Mediavial stove, low cieling and wooden ricketing table. A comefy home for someone living in self-imposed poverty. But despite all her faults, Ebony was one mean cooked.

"Phenomenon?" I said taking a bite out of my sandwich. "What is it?"

"Nothing important. Just that Tie Hua showed her off the moment she got it," Cy explained handing Lux a sunglasses she desperately need. My light was really that bright."It a phenomenon that happened when your status reached a new rank from A. But this is huge Tie Hua got hers when she was 18 and she was one of the best record in history. You just smash a top-tier goddess's record Rem! This is bloody unfair!"

A footstep was heard and a girl veered in across the corner.

"Fufu," Melodina grinned while brushing her hair toward the side alluringly. "Smashing record? Indeed you did smash a record and I congratulate you. However, you still can't compare to me."

"Ehh," this time Lux nearly dropped her sandwhich.

Melodina smiled and showed us her card.

...

"You are an A-Rank?" Cy looked around the house. "Why are you staying here? You could get a high-paying job anywhere in Phantasia."

Melodina's ever-so-confident face wavered for a moment.

"Shut up," she said. "Who care about money? I and mom build this shop together. We are not going to abandon it."

"Really," I said looking at her. "Your mom plan to put you on the throne right? This meant that sooner or later this shop had to go."

"How amusing?" Melodina raised her eyes brow. "Mom told me you can help back me up to the throne but if this is the back up I got I don't think I want to win."

"I don't agree with your definition of winning," I replied "I and your mother had differing opinion and we came to an impasse."

"Wait a throne?" Lux looked at me and Mel. "What throne?"

I sighed.

"You never hear my conversation at all do you."

Both Cy and Lux nodded but before I could explain it, Melodina beat me to the punch first.

"I am the daughter of Majesty Aztellic, direct descendant of Aztellic empire. I will be a future empress of Demonic Continent."

"What!?" Lux And Cy yelled in surprise. Really guys, you should see this coming.

"Future Empress?" I replied slightly annoyed with the girl attitude. "That was one rich talk. What would you gain by being an empress? You should know that all your ancestor end up on the homicide victim's list right."

Mel sat up, slammed her hand on the table and looked at me in the face.

"That was why it is my sole duty to redeem them. I won't allow my blood and my house to suffer such disgrace. The crime against my father had to be avenged."

Should I launch her through the wall? Nah keep cool Rem. Keep cool.

"True, what happened to your father was a tragedy but there a crack in your argument. How do to define disgrace? Is dying for your cause such a humiliation? Are you going to go back as a conqueror and broke everything your father tried to build?"

"Are you telling me to let this go? It is my duty to continue my father life work?!"

"And how exactly are you going to do that?! Your father died to fix your country. If you try to reclaim the throne, you will broke an entire continent in half. And where do you expect to get an army to do that? How are you expected to face the bereaved families of the men who died to put you on that throne? Your goal is the ultimate definition of selfishness."

"Selfishness? Of course I should be selfish. Fortune favored the bold, ever heard of that? I will climb pass that ceiling and take what I want. Just be honest with yourselves! People by nature was like that. We climbed over each other corpses in this cruel world. We contested and we fight for the glory and the best rule all. I will that best who would claim the throne and purge all the corruption. It is in my destiny and right to revamp that Aztellic's law! Don't you dare doubt my ability to do it!!"

I see. This girl was without a doubt the embodiment of determination and pride. She knew the world was the law of the jungle and she accepted it.

But here is a thing, society should not be a jungle and we are not animals.

"Who are going to enforce the law? Do you think you can do it alone?" Suddenly, I noticed something about her character. "Oh dammit, you actually believed that by trying hard enough you can do anything? Even worse you actually believed that the divine gave you a special license to rule."

"Yes I do!" She yelled back. "What is wrong with that?"

"The price, that is why?" I looked into her eyes. "I will admit this. Your believes that you can do anything if you never give up is indeed admirable. Knowing your pride, you had already succeed at it. Yet, you should look at the world a bit clearly here. You had an advantage above normal people but even that will ran dry."

"That is an excuse of the weak," Melodina yelled back.

"Hey, stop it you too," Lux tried to break up the fight. "It enough! Rem please don't go any further. And Melodina I am sorry."

I brushed Lux aside. Callous yes, but I need to get my point across.

"Let me break it to you Melodina," I said, a fury surged to my artery. "You are descended from a line that ruled a continent for ninety-five years. Your an ancestor was on top of the Demonic totem pole. Your mother was a recognized diplomat. You are poor but, skill-wise, you could reach high-class income whenever you want. You can try hard and succeed. The same cannot be said for everyone? How could you expect to sympathize with a soldier who had to feed three kids and a dying wife? Or a kid in a slum who had to steal because his parent died in a war? Or a woman who being repeatedly rape as plunder you had to pay your soldier with. And this all happened because, to quote you, 'we climbed over each other corpses in this cruel world'."

A wave of mana surged from me and knocked Cy and Lux back. The entire house rattled. The mana throughout the town responded to me anger and relayed its connection toward a higher power. A force of nature, unbeatable by anything in and outside of the omniverse, was glaring at this shoddy argument in the eye.

"So answer me Melodina Solarmaria, " I said my eyes glowing rainbow aurora as I, no, it must my boss channeling her awesomeness through me, towered over Melodina with every words. "How could a girl who never empathize with the people be expected to lead them? The reason your entire blood is a blight on Earth for six generations was because that law of jungle mentality. So take this advice and wipe that philosophy from your nicotine-addicted brain. I don't care if you have the empire behind you. The fact that you will conquer all gods or ruled over all Asuras is insignificant in my eyes. I don't care if you are the strongest martial God in million worlds or that you live for 300 giga trillion years. The fact that you can snap all life in the universe away with your fingers is a minor footnote. When I came for you, stock up all powers, all the weapons and all the might you can afford. It wouldn't matter."

A certain someone from a place remove from cause and effect looked at Melodina through my eyes and, for once in her lifetime, utterly put a fear of karma in Mel.

"Do not tempt all that good in the multiverse Melodina Majesty Sunshine Solarmaria." My eyes glowed sixteen degrees brighter. "The Olympian already try it too many times and paid dearly. And trust me. YOU. WON'T. LIKE. IT."

Crash!

I believed someone jumped out of the window.

A lightning cracked from the sky and torrent of rain dropped out of nowhere. Meanwhile, I slumped to the wooden floor completely drained.

But I was happy. Here is a tip kid: if you want to put a fear of God into someone, go and got possessed by an actual God.

A moment later...

Scathach and Ebony burst into the room to see me laying flat on the ground completely useless. Meanwhile, Lux was trembling under the corner of the room praying. Melodina fainted on the floor unmoving. And the shattered window indicated Cy newly acquired title of window's skydiver.

Seeing that mess Scathach had only one sentence.

"What the hell happened here?"
